Report: Isaiah Thomas will not be suspended

The Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy with some great news:

NBA has decided not to suspend Isaiah Thomas, per league source.

If this is indeed the case, Boston and their fans can breathe a big sigh of relief.

UPDATE: Murphy is right, there will not be a suspension. The league has issued Thomas a Flagrant 1 for the hit on Schroder.

In other news, Marcus Smart was fined $5,000 for this absurd flop on a Kyle Korver box-out.

Marcus still doesn’t get it. The officials are aware of his schtick and it’s costing him legit foul calls.

Well done, NBA. Marcus Smart needed that flopping fine for his own good (as well as the good of humanity) but suspending IT would have been way out of the spirit of the rule. Though he should be smarter next time.

Why did Schroder have to walk right at Thomas? I can see the arm swing being called self-defense. And that Schroder would appear to be the provocateur.

After I finished celebrating IT not getting suspended I stopped and realized….how are the Celtics going to win without him scoring 40?

Sigh of relief is an understatement! I think that’s the right call NBA. Now no more stupid shiz like that IT and just go get buckets!

And yea, that flop by Marcus… Just wow… He looked like a salmon trying to swim up river… Although from the behind the basket view it looked more convincing. If it had worked though, korver would have fouled out much sooner… Oh well… We got the W… Next game!
