Was Kevin Love hanging out in Boston before the playoffs started?

Kevin-Love

We’ve been through this before…

Last summer, the Kevin Love sightings were pouring in as people realized the soon-to-be-traded forward was taking in the sights of what might have been his new home city.  He seemed to enjoy himself here. Word is the Celtics would have probably gotten him if Cleveland didn’t get the top pick the same summer they got LeBron back. And now, after a long season of being misused in Cleveland, there is speculation that Love is one-and-done in Cleveland.

Which brings us to this…

Boston is really the place he wants to be. We all know it. I bet he knows it, which just might be why, according to one insider, he spent a couple of off days here when the Cavaliers’ schedule allowed for some R&R at the end of the regular season.

Say what now?

Kevin Love… given a couple of days off before facing the Celtics spent time… in Boston?

Really?

Did anyone see him? How did the Globe’s hockey guy get this scoop? Why was it buried in the middle of “let’s show Love the love and cheer for him so hard he’ll HAVE to come play here” piece and not played up higher?

I’m not sure if this is or isn’t true. I have no reason to think Kevin Paul DuPont would fabricate or exaggerate it. It just seems odd.

I’ll tell you what though.. I’m kind of on board with the cheering thing…. at least for the intros. What kind of message would that send to a player if he got a rousing standing ovation like that while introduced as the visitor in a game where his team could bury the Celtics?

I can’t wait for next year’s Celtics-Cavs Eastern Conference Finals featuring LeBron vs. Love.

Go after Love and trade for DMC while keeping Smart, Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, Jerebko everyone else can go

    • Adam Stark

      What about Zeller?

      • Jaedre

Yea keep him too… My bad…

      • Alex Costa

If we can keep Zeller as our backup Center, while have Demarcus Cousins as our starting Center, I would have such a huge erection.

        • Dave

Danny got his work cut out for him this offseason, especially with so many bigs available, perhaps some fireworks this time around?

    • Brad P

Even if that were possible, our rim protection would just get worse lol

DMC sounds intriguing, but him and Thomas together don’t work well at all. Unless Stevens turns out to be the ultimate peacemaker…

I just wish we could get rid of Bradley

If Cleveland doesn’t get to the finals, then I’ll get my hopes up for Love-to-Boston. Especially if the Celtics make this a tough series for the Cavs. Unfortunately, I don’t see Love bolting if the Cavs go to the finals or higher.

However, as much as I’d love to see Kevin Love the Celtics, he can’t be the only piece the Celtics bring in. The C’s need more. Who else can the Celtics get?

The remarkable thing about Kevin Love now is how he’s started playing hard on the defensive end, beginning in this series! This is a HUGE change for Love — whom I never wanted to see in green specifically because of his terrible D. But he’s changed now — and he’s GOOD at it too. Now that we know he CAN do it, I’m completely sure Stevens will make sure he continues. So now — I’m all for bringing Love to BOS. Good luck in the hunt, Danny.

P.S. Bring us a scoring wing too, and I’ll give ya a coupla cookies. Who? Umm — PP 2.0, please.
