James Young continues to shine in D-League

As the Boston Celtics continue their futility, James Young has played quite well in the NBA’s Developmental League. In the Maine Red Claws’ loss to Canton last night, Young scored 15 points (10 in the 1st half) on 4 of 6 shooting from the field and 3 of 6 from trey. The loss snapped Maine’s eight game winning streak. Young has averages of 21 ppg & 32 mpg in 6 contests for the Red Claws.

With Ainge’s track record regarding rookie’s I doubt Young will ever really get a chance to play.

I know its just D league Ball!! But with Avery struggling and no Thorton why not see if Young could get it going!!!

It’s time to start Smart and Young and give them thirty plus minutes. We are the only lottery team in the league that refuses to let our rookies go out there and consistently play thirty plus minutes a night.

    I don’t get this team , they baby their rookies. Throw em out there, at least we would have something to watch. Watching Nelson and Green lose every night is boring. Imagine if we had a rookie named Paul Pierce in 2014, he would be in the D-league. Ridiculous!!!!

      That’s what I’m saying. Quickest rookie on court was Sully most recently. We need to give rookies stable minutes… No, we need to give players stable minutes period. I guess Danny Ainge’s surprise trades can make that difficult.

I like Young and think he should get minutes with the C’s, but its DLeague. Proof? Brady Heslip is leading the League in scoring at over 30ppg and still barely a sniff. Young can cure our 3pt woes in the backcourt, but kid is still adjusting to playing NBA defense. And with too many young guys out on the court we will never get a whistle blown in our favor.
