Throwback Thursday: ‘Toine vs MJ

November 7th, 2001. Michael Jordan and the 2-3 Washington Wizards were in town to face the Celtics at the FleetCenter. Three days earlier, MJ and his boys were crushed by the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Jordan was hoping to right the ship at the expense of the C’s.

But it was not to be. Behind a torrid shooting performance (11 of 15) from Antoine Walker, the Celtics triumphed 104-95. Toine was just one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 10 rebounds and 9 dimes to go with his 31 points. Jordan had himself a night also, putting in a game high 32 points. Christian Laettner added 29 for Washington.

Paul Pierce also had a solid night for Boston. The Truth had 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals & 3 blocks. Enjoy the game video below courtesy of  LamarMatic:

oh Milt, what rough team to watch

Easy to forget Walker was a very good passer. And Hubie Brown was and still is a very good announcer.
