Recap: Lazy, disjointed Celtics throttled by Brooklyn

Well, that sucked.

A lethargic, half-hearted Celtics squad let the lowly Brooklyn Nets walk all over them tonight. The C’s finally woke up late in the 3rd quarter, but they just couldn’t make enough plays down the stretch. Brook Lopez (23 points, 10 rebounds) torched every Boston big thrown his way. That vaunted Boston defense allowed the Nets to shoot 50% and score 111 points, 15 more than their season average.

It’s pretty obvious the Celtics are not good enough to sleepwalk to victories, even against teams as bad as Brooklyn.

Green

Avery Bradley (27 points, 7-14 3 FG, 2 steals) and Isaiah Thomas (27 points, 6 assists) carried the load offensively.

Gross

Celtics bigs were awful, especially Amir Johnson (-17) and David Lee (-10). They combined for 2 points and 2 rebounds in 25 minutes. Jae Crowder and Jonas Jerebko also had noteworthy stretches of awfulness.

How bad was the Celtics defense? Andrea Bargnani had 10 12 points on 6-9 FG.

The Celtics trailed by 8 when Jae Crowder nailed this 3, only to have the worst ref in the history of the league call an offensive foul.

Greenlights

In a sea of ugly, this was a beautiful block by Avery Bradley on the much bigger Thaddeus Young.

Grid

  • Avery Bradley attempted a career high 14 3-pointers
  • RJ Hunter had 0 points but was 2nd on the team in +/- (+8)
  • Terry Rozier played 5 minutes in the first half, but did not see the floor in the 2nd half

Was it actually Joey Crawford that called the foul on Jae?

who ever that ref is needs to fined, if they started fining the refs they would stop that crap, either that or they dont want us to win too many games

I was wondering that too. He`s the worst I`ve ever seen , and I`m practically ancient.

I suppose it had to happen at some point… The dreaded elephant dump…. But would have liked it not to be against the God awful Nets… Bwah.

Only positive I take from this, AB is actually being consistent with his scoring… And how bout that block! Git some AB!

Bargnani had 12 points, not 10.

      My bad. Thanks.

I guess it’s ok for Reggie Miller to do it 100% of the time.
