Continuing his rise in the ranks of respected NBA coaches, Brad Stevens joined Mike & Mike on ESPN Radio this morning to discuss a wide array of basketball topics.

The Celtics’ young mentor weighed in on the use of analytics in the NBA, the best strategy for defending Stephen Curry and the Warriors, how teams approach the draft, and the potential effects of the college game adopting a 30-second shot clock. Brad even showed his sense of humor during banter with the hosts.

A replay has been posted as a 20-minute podcast on ESPN’s website. Listen here.

The ESPN app has the entire mike and mike show broken down into four hour segments. I’m pumped to listen on my ride home

Listened this morning he rewatched the whole duke loss after the fact then slept for a hour and got a David Letterman phone call are you kidding?!?! He just lost the biggest game of his career at that point and he was already researching learning what they did wrong. Future free agents with no rings come to Boston and its a matter of time!

Stevens seems pretty milquetoast, or maybe it would better to say exceptionally diplomatic, on a variety of topics…the NCAA, comparing the Pats and the Colts, etc. When he compared the two football organizations and offered how similarly run they were, I spit out my morning coffee…similar in what sense Brad…one owner is a pill popping drug addict and total scumbag, the other, who has diminished greatly in my eyes recently after throwing TB under the bus, is definitely not those things. Pick a side Brad, having a strong opinion about some things is healthy.
