Danny Ainge is prepared to… hold off and wait?

Chuck - Red's Army May 14, 2015 Celtics News 4 Comments

Danny Ainge spoke recently about his mentality going into the offseason:

If there are big moves we like, we do them. If there are big moves we are not in love with, then we hold off and wait.

Those are the challenging ones. Some are very easy to determine and some are very challenging.

Sounds like a fairly obvious line of thinking, but GM’s make panic moves all the time. I have faith that Wyc and Pags will not pressure Danny into making risky moves.

Timing, of course, is everything:

When KG and Ray Allen became available, we were in the game. We had the opportunity to do something special.

When James Harden became available, we weren’t. We didn’t have the assets…

I’m giddy about the opportunities awaiting the Celtics in June and July. I’m also bracing myself for the possibility that nothing happens.

I’d rather sit patient with optimism than be counting down the years on a bad contract.

This shouldn’t even need repeating but with the fan base hell bent on us turning into the Knicks im glad it was said.

Totally agree. Danny should be opportunistic with his moves, not desperate like the Knicks are bound to be.

Hold off and wait = we couldn’t get anyone. DA would sooner go to Burning Man and dance naked than reveal ANY plans.

    Go Danny! Go C’s!

I rather have this mentality then to do a deal just because.
