Can you guess who gave Tyler Zeller a 1st place “Most Improved” vote?

John - Red's Army (@RedsArmy_John) May 7, 2015 Celtics News, Tyler Zeller 7 Comments

NBA: Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks

Chicago’s Jimmy Butler rightfully won the Most Improved Player award. He got 92 first place votes and 535 points overall to beat out Draymond Green, another worthy contender, pretty easily.

Scanning through the list of vote-getters, I was struck to see a Celtic on there.

Tyler Zeller.

Now, Zeller had a nice year and he certainly improved over last year, but MOST IMPROVED?

You’d have to be a total Celtics homer to think that…

Oh Tommy… never change.

Oh… Cedric Maxwell gave Jae Crowder a nod… giving him a second place vote.

Love Tommy but I stopped taking his player evaluation serious years ago.

Same here… I’ll never forget that he compared Greg Stiemsma to Bill Russell. That still cracks me up when I think about it.

That was the icing on the cake for me. That and his analysis of other teams players are usually just the few games they play C’s (which I don’t fault him for, but some people take his word as gospel just cause hes a legend and its kind of annoying).

I remember watching a game in 08 or 09 where he compared Leon Powe to Moses Malone and Rondo to Oscar Robertson IN THE SAME GAME! So there was a time when this lineup was on the floor

        PG-Robertson
        SG-Allen
        SF-Pierce
        PF-Garnett
        C-Malone

        THAT’S A TOMMY POINT!!!!

I agree, never change Tommy, you are the man!

Both C’s players mentioned def improved throughout the year…I liked how both of them improved throughout the year and became pretty dependable and reliable to contribute in one way or another most games.

Still really impressed with Crowder and his playoff grit…this from a guy that was “tossed-in” to a trade…awesome.

I though Butler was pretty good last year, though. If I had a vote, it would have been for Gobert. Loved what Zeller is, this is what I thought he would be coming out of Carolina. But what Gobert is becoming going to be something special. Dude is extremely long and can jump. Supplanting a starter is a hard thing to do.
