On Tuesday, the NBA tweeted that Celtics foward Brandon Bass was visiting China this week. I got in touch with some of the fine folks over at Hoop China for the details. Bass is participating in Lenovo’s NBA “Legends of Summer” tour. It’s basically an event where NBA players visit venues in different Chinese cities. In each city, the NBA stars hold drills, skills competitions and training sessions. Bass appeared at the annual Dongying Station Square Carnival this past Saturday. Dongying is in the Shandong province of China, which is located just southeast of Beijing. His brother, Chris Bass, who played hoops at LSU, is with Brandon in China. You’ll see him in some of the pics. Here are a few photos from the event and the trip:

Yes! Forgot to mention those. The Nike Huarache 2K4 in neon yellow. He also is rocking some sweet Air Jordan III black/gray in another pic. Bass has quite the nice kicks collection.
I know they get a lot of free Kicks, but are those tax deductable? If a guy buys some limited edtion Kicks he can say they are work related and write them off right?
Bass endorses Nike, so they basically pay him to wear their kicks. Most players don’t wear their “game” kicks anywhere but on the floor. But that’s an interesting question for guys without sneaker contracts, of which there are not too many. Here’s a list via SLAM of each team and what brand each player endorses:
