Rondo broke one of Cousy’s assist records

Rondo dished out a total of 219 assists in the month of March, shattering Bob Cousy's 56-year-old record after recording 210 assists in January 1956, according to ESPN Stats and Info. Rondo certainly benefited from having 17 games during the month in this condensed season, but he still averaged 12.9 assists per game for the month. [...]

Enemy Chatter: KG unleashed 34 minutes of hell

Enemy Chatter: KG unleashed 34 minutes of hell

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Minnesota. The debate before Friday night's game at Target Center was whether Kevin Garnett in his prime or Kevin Love as a 23-year-old stats monster was the best [...]

Let’s just take a moment to enjoy this headline, and this team

Let’s just take a moment to enjoy this headline, and this team

That's the headline when you get to the Globe's site today.   C's in first. There are still weeks to go and a lot of games to play.  The Celtics could get hot and increase the lead… they could stay in this dogfight… or they could go cold and miss the playoffs altogether.  I really [...]

Your Morning Dump… Where the Celtics suck at getting to the line

Your Morning Dump… Where the Celtics suck at getting to the line

Photo By Lorianne DiSabato on Flickr.  Yes, that's Sheed on the line.    "We have been a horrendous team going to the line, for the most part, where as in the past we’ve been very good at it," admitted Rivers. "[Pierce is] the guy. [Point guard Rajon] Rondo doesn’t get to the line as much as [...]

Celtics GreenLights vs Wolves

Celtics GreenLights vs Wolves

After completing one of their best all-around performances of the season, the Celtics defeated the Minnesota TimberWolves and took control of first place in the Atlantic Division.  They have a tough stretch of games coming up, but to me this is where the fun is just getting started.  Last night was a lot of fun [...]

Recap: KG sticks it to Wolves, one more time

Recap: KG sticks it to Wolves, one more time

The Celtics started strong and finished even stronger in tonight's 100-79 victory over the Wolves. Kevin Garnett was phenomenal: 24 points, 12-18 FG, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block. He dropped 10 points in the 4th quarter. The Wolves tried to make a run midway thru the 4th, but Garnett slammed the door. After [...]

RedsArmy presents FanFriday #27 “North of the Border”

This week's Fan Friday features Dana from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Dana is one of the many Celtics fans that I interact with via Twitter. Despite living thousands of miles from Boston and the TD Garden, the Celtics are very close to her heart.                          [...]

Ray Allen: The ankle feels good

Ray Allen: The ankle feels good

Sherrod Blakely has an update on Ray Allen's ankle: "It feels good; it feels fine," Allen said. "I'll know a little better later on." Allen, who has missed the Celtics' last four games with the injury, will go through his usual pre-game routine which involves getting to the arena early and get up some shots. [...]

Austin Rivers: I would play for anybody, especially the Celtics

Austin Rivers: I would play for anybody, especially the Celtics

Here are my notes from Austin Rivers' appearance on WEEI earlier this morning: What do you do between now and draft day? Keep working out… getting better. Get an agent this weekend… I'll just get ready for workouts so I'll be able to kill them all. Where you might be slotted? Top 10… top 15. [...]
