Report: Isaiah Thomas selected to All Star team

I’ll just start by saying this is an unusual source for something like this, but Carron Phillips of Delaware Online has tweeted this list of All Star game reserves:

I’m not here to besmirch Carron Phillips, because I don’t know anything about the guy. He does have a verified account, he’s responding to tweets about the posts so he wasn’t hacked, and he’s a reporter for a legitimate news outlet that’s part of the USA Today network. So while he’s an unusual source, there’s nothing to indicate he’s just making things up for the sake of attention. This seems legit… which is why I’m posting it.

So we’ll have to wait and see whether the official announcement matches this report…

Assuming it does (and we hope it does) then we should congratulate Isaiah Thomas for his first All Star selection. He really, really, really wants to make this team, and I think he really is deserving.

I really don’t doubt that he’s on the team. You can’t tell me the team holding the 5th seed at the time of the selections would get NO All Stars. So I feel pretty comfortable saying congrats to IT. It’s a well-deserved honor.

this would be fantastic. I really hope this is true. This guy is just such a tough player

Glad Isaiah made it, the only way for him to make it was through the coaches. Another reason why I haven’t voted since 2013, the voting system is such a joke now.

But yea last time we had an All-Star(s) was with KG and Rondo (Rondo being injured though).

I really wish Shaq had made it that one year. We’d have had our starting 5 all on the AS team.

Too bad they have to actually play the stupid game

Good for IT he deserves it.

Its amazing that he really didn’t even have his shot going at his normal percentages until recently. He still found way to score over 20 ppg and impact this team as much or greater than anyone else on it.
