Celtics/Wiz working sign-and-trade for Hump

Chuck - Red's Army July 15, 2014 Celtics News 25 Comments

Any chance they’ll send us Bradley Beal? Ok, I guess a TPE will have to do.

The Wizards are going to win 50+ games next year. Losing Ariza, but adding Pierce and Hump.

nice move wizards are doing. happy for them. this might be a start of john wall and kyrie rivalry in the playoffs.

cavs and wizards. who wouldve thought

    • Mike C

Even better @Wil, Miami gets bumped out of playoffs in the first or second round. Couldn’t be Happier! Well,… maybe if the Celtics could get back into the playoff hunt.

      • wil

really will be nice to see Pierce knock Lebrons cavs again haha

    • KGino

Pierce vs. Lebron: The Final Chapter. Weird.

Also, if Rose stays healthy and returns to all star form, I like the bulls. Pau & Noah in the paint + healthy D Rose = trouble

Bulls got some SERIOUS twin tower action going on, its going to be damn scary. Won’t be surprised if they go to the ECF (and win), it will be like the Pau + Bynum. Lakers of the past that we just couldn’t handle in 2010, they beat us almost purely on size.

        • LA Flake

Uhh…That and the refs calling every ticky tack foul in their favor. In the 4th quarter. In game 7 of the NBA Finals no less.

            F*!&’in Joey Crawford!

          • LA Flake

            F*!&’in David Stern!

          • Curt Hays

            and we didn’t have Perk

          • adam

yeah after they let them play for 2/3’s of the game they suddenly changed. But the Celtics did throw up a ton of bricks…

If I remember correctly when it was the Lebrons Part I–wasnt there somewhat of a “rivalry” between the Cavs and the Wiz w/ Areneas. I think those series used to be pretty chippy.

I may just be watching a lot of the Wiz this year! I love Hump, sad to see him go, but damn the Wiz will be good. He fills a need at PF they had for sure. Him + Gortat sounds nice.

    • LA Flake

It’ll definitely be easier to root for them than the Nets for sure. Rooting for the Nets last year was…hard to say the least.

    • Curt Hays

      The Hammer and the Hump!

  • Brad

    Good Nene insurance.

  • BillRussell

ohh very nice- what do you guys think this will allow the Celtics to do?

    • eddysamson

Heard something about another exception for him, could be something we’re doing to prepare us to make moves next summer.

  • Jacquard Causeway

Good for Hump. I’ll be glad to see him on a good team for once.

    • Curt Hays

You realize you just referred to the Wizards as a good team?

      • Thatguy

Well… That’s no longer incorrect. Just weird to hear…

  • bob

For the contract the Warriors are paying for Hump, the Celtics should have matched it if they could have. He is a good player but just not worth $12 million

    • Curt Hays

Sure, we’d love to, but…duplication. We don’t need any more 6’9″ guys.

Granted, we don’t need more guards either. But we need 7-footers and SFs.

  • MatthewWilding

I’m pretty excited to watch the Wizards this year. Having better guys to pass to is going to make John Wall way more fun to watch.

  • adam

PP in red white and blue. Humphries too? Man Humps grew on me last year. Wiz will be fun to watch.
