Toronto can’t handle The Truth in G1

Well here we are Celtics fans. It’s the middle of April, and for the first time in a long time, Boston is not in the playoffs. So what do we do now? Live vicariously through Pierce & Garnett of course.

After the Toronto Sun came out and called Ticket & Truth “dinosaurs“, Paul Pierce took over game one of the Nets’ playoff series with the Raps in the fourth quarter. After a Kyle Lowry layup tied the game at 73 with 6:25 left, Pierce checked back in & commenced to hit one big shot after another. Truth tallied 9 points, 2 assists & 1 rebound in that final 6 minutes & change, helping Brooklyn seal the deal in Toronto. Paul finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block & 1 steal on the day, and despite not scoring in bunches, KG also played a part in Brooklyn’s victory. In just over 20 minutes on the floor, Ticket put in 5 points, grabbed 8 boards, had 2 steals, a block & an assist. The Dinosaurs take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Any other good headline ideas Toronto Sun? Check out Pierce’s game vid courtesy of GD:

That final shot Pierce took in that game, it made me smile.

You know the entire Celtic Nation was with you. What a strange experience this is turning out to be for all of us.

    I’m fuckin crying. He’s a Legend. Simple.

This is already too bittersweet. On the one hand I am elated for Paul & KG. OTOH, those stupid Nets fans have never had anyone like PP & KG and don’t know how to handle those two greats bringing them home like yesterday. I don’t know how I feel about sharing the whole PPKG experience especially with New Jersey. Watching P do what he does in the playoffs in another uniform made me feel like I was being cheated on. Just a very confusing experience all around.

    • Thatguy

I agree. Although, most Nets fans I’ve run into Florida over here deeply respect PP and KG.

And on another bright note, he shut up all those guys that were calling him old. Again.

I’m mostly reading the message boards and although they’re in awe and rightfully so, I just hate that another team is getting a taste of the whole KGPP experience. It’s like my beloved ex-girlfriend’s on a date with a new guy and I’ve tagged along. Not a good feeling.

Now that you put it that way…

Watched the whole game. Hurt my heart to see Paul win a playoff game for another team.

It’s even worse watching KG. He looks done.

    • LA Flake

He “looks” done…until he doesn’t. KG & PP have undoubtedly looked done at times the last couple of years but they never ever go out without swinging. And that’s because they bleed green. Right, P? Right, KG? God I miss those two in green!!!

One of the All Time Greats to ever wear a Celtics jersey does it again. Glad to see him and KG make One more playoff run, even if they are on another team.

Couldn’t be happier for PP. I always wanted to see him succeed one last time, even if its not for the C’s.
