Via the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy:

Avery Bradley, who hasn’t  been able to shake injuries and their subsequent surgeries his entire career, at least received some encouraging news today.

The Celtics guard learned that a second MRI taken on Wednesday of his problematic, swollen right ankle was negative.

Though originally diagnosed as a second sprain, the injury is now being called a bone bruise. According to Danny Ainge, the Celtics guard may be two weeks away from returning to action. The time frame marks an increase. The Celtics medical staff’s first two-week prognosis was two weeks ago.

But at least Bradley has been given permission to increase his workouts.

It appears Avery will continue to miss time with an ankle injury that’s been upgraded from an ankle sprain to a bone bruise. The fact that the MRI is negative is encouraging for everyone involved, but these nagging issues likely won’t bode well in Bradley’s plight for an $8 million yearly contract.

Say another team does offer Bradley around 7-8 million dollars. Would you consider drafting a guy like Exum or Smart and letting Bradley walk? Or would you rather pay up for the often injured ball-hound?

Avery is good when healthy. But he can’t remain on the court for any length of time (injuries) since he saw an increase of playing time. And he wants 8 million? Him and his Agent better have a sit down. As much as I love watching him play, Ainge might let him walk.

At this point, if we fall outside of the top 3, I would take Exum or Smart & let Bradley walk if he’s wanting over $6.5mil.

Sign and Trade, though I’m not certain of the rules anymore under the new CBA.

Part of the problem we didnt get banner 18 was because ainge held on to oft injured players ta jo n now bradley. Hes the best on ball defender there is no question but for 8 mil his time should b up sign n trade to somewhere decent bulls maybe? If this is a supposed two yr plan it cant b wasted waitin to see if bradley can stay healthy. Offensively he is undersized at his position and a chucker which are very easily upgradeable. Maybe its bradley thst could be the new big al in a trade for a superstar ir paired w green we can get a great player.
