D.West part of CBA history

Old friend Delonte West was involved in Chinese Basketball Association history last night. His team, the Fujian Sturgeons, beat the Zhejiang Cyclones 178-177. It was the highest scoring game in CBA history, and it took 5 overtime periods to get a winner.

West was very close to a triple-double, notching 37 points, 8 rebounds & 11 assists. Mike Harris, who had a cup of coffee with the Utah Jazz last season, had 55 points for Zhejiang. You can check out the complete, ridiculous box score over at FIBA.com.

I might head over to Japan and become a backup PG.

Hmmm this makes me want to check Shav’s stats, lets see how the Shavalanche is doing. Weird…he only has 6 games played this season, all in November. He did average 22 pts and 12 rbs a game in those 6 (including a 42-20 night). The Foshan Long Lions team site lists him as a reserve as well, I wonder if he got injured?

Would have been nice to see Shav catch onto a team in the NBA..guy gave great effort.

It’s very possible he did. Not sure if you remember this doozie of an injury he got in his first year over in China: http://twitpic.com/bilgsx

Never knew anything about him until he was on the team. Is that dude stepping on his jaw? That looks gnarly, good thing its basketball and not a sport with cleats.

Here’s a view from a photog who was on the floor. Gnarly indeed. He bled quite a bit but fortunately didn’t need surgery or anything: http://twitpic.com/bilhid

Holy crap that is nuts. Shav is one tough dude, how many nose bleeds did he get for us? Chris Johnson’s first breakout game started with a bloody nose too! Reminded me of Shav instantly.

D-West since drafted by Celts in 2004 : “What a long, strange trip this has been!”

I’m glad to see D West playing ball and not on youtube eating chicken or pretending to drive a truck.

Watching this video, i’m not sure I’d call it “professional”…….although the hundreds of people in the stands might say different.
