Report: Everyone knows Kevin Love wants to sign with the Lakers

Kevin Love could  be one of the most coveted free agents in 2015, provided he opts out of his contract. Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports that Love has one team in his sights:

The Lakers are combing the trade market for an athletic power forward who fits Mike D’Antoni’s system, though it isn’t clear how high they’re aiming. If LA is looking for a premium player in return for Pau Gasol, league sources say Gasol’s trade value has plummeted to the point where such a deal is unrealistic.

Also, rival executives are skeptical that the Lakers would be willing to cut into future cap space, especially with an Eastern Conference executive telling this week that “everyone knows” 2015 free agent Kevin Love wants to sign with LA.

No surprise here. Love grew up in Southern California and went to UCLA. His smokeshow girlfriend is a former UCLA cheerleader.

He’s also getting frustrated with losing in Minnesota.

No worries. As long as Mike D’Antoni is the coach, the Lakers aren’t winning squat.

The last sentence is so true.

Meh. Not at all enamored with Kevin Love’s game. I honestly prefer Sully’s game over his. Kevin Love is soft and he can’t defend.

You don’t average double digits in rebounds and be soft as undersized power forward

Any team would love to have K-Love.

Also, since when are the Lakers “married” to D`Antoni? There is no salary cap for coaches.

After LA completes this year of tanking, D`Antoni only has 1 year left on his contract, at $4M. If they choose to buy out his final year, they most definitely have the resources to do so.

LOL OKAY BRO. Dude averages 26pts/13rebs/4asts/1st/.5block such a shame that being SLIGHTLY soft on defense makes that all go to waste……..rightttttttttttttttttttttt.

If I was earning that much id expect more from that from a girlfriend. ( I AM ONLY JOKING)

I think Love is overrated. For all his talents, and yet the Timberwolves have never once been close to a .500 team during his career. Sure, he can fill up a stat sheet, but he doesn’t make his team any better.

KG seemed to cop a lot of the same criticisms when he was in minny as k love is getting now.
Maybe the wolves should trade him to us…seemed to work out well last time they did?

Everyone BUT Love knows hes signing with LA. I think their rolling out a lineup of Rondo, Kobe, Melo, Love and Gasol in 2015. Dont forget Wiggins either.

  • kg2128

Except KG was a significantly better player who had less help, not really the same no. Love does fill up the stat sheet but he doesn’t draw double teams and he doesn’t play defense.

    • Chief_00

Agreed that KG was a better player, i was implying that the wolves have had 2 franchise players and never seems to build a championship team
