While fielding questions about trade speculation surrounding often injured forward Danny Granger, Larry Bird dropped this bomb:

“He doesn’t work hard enough (in the offseason),” Bird said. “He’s not a guy who’ll push himself to the brink like a lot of our guys do. He works hard but he doesn’t push himself. That’s why he starts slow every year and he just works his way back. Now this year, he’s been hurt, so it’s a different deal.”

Bam! Larry Legend is still a ruthless bastard.

What’s Granger to do now? Nothing. He has to take his medicine and go home. Because if there’s an NBA executive who can challenge a players work ethic, it’s Bird.

There’s no fighting Larry Bird’s opinion on work ethic. Bird was the consummate pro and worked his ass off, even when he wasn’t at his physical peak. I don’t know how Granger (or anyone) can play under Bird and not learn to put in the effort every single night.

    Viva la Bird!

Granger doesn’t play defense. Is there a moron on Earth who would keep him on a team that already has Paul George? F outta here with Danny Granger.
