MJ dismisses LeBron and disses Kobe

Gotta love Michael Jordan. It took him 5 seconds to verbally slap around LeBron James and Kobe Bryant:

NBA legend Michael Jordan believes he could beat LeBron James in a one-on-one basketball game when he was in his prime.

He’s not sure about Kobe Bryant.

In a video promoting the NBA 2K14 video game that is being released today, Jordan said there’s a long list of players he would’ve liked to have played one-on-one — Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Julius Erving, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Bryant and James, who dons the cover of this year’s game.

“I don’t think I would lose,” Jordan said in the video, before smiling and adding, “Other than to Kobe Bryant because he steals all of my moves.”

You just know Kobe is pissed at the “steals my moves” comment. That’s a bigger insult than claiming victory in 1-on-1.

I’d put money on Jordan over anyone in a game of 1-on-1.

I would hesitate betting against Larry. Legend could nail 11 straight jumpers even with Jordan draped all over him.

“I would hesitate betting against Larry”

THIS. This is why I love this site.

    • LA Flake

Larry is something like 20-3 against MJ.

I do love me some MJ though.

He is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Kobe & LBJ combined.

Quick name all the NBA players who were MVP in addition to Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year.
Now name all of the NBA players who were “merely” MVP and Coach of the Year.
Oh, that’s the same list and Larry Bird is the only one on either list? Well here I was thinking he wasn’t that big of a deal…

      • Curt Hays

Also, Larry Bird is better because MJ never won anything for Terre Haute.

  • RedsLoveChild

Jordan would be giving away at least 2 inches, and 50 pounds of rock solid muscle to LBJ.

Good luck stopping that train, MJ!

    • Curt Hays

Well, would LBJ still get 5 steps? And is there a restricted zone? If not, Rondo could stop LBJ.

      • RedsLoveChild

        5 steps, 3 steps, 0 steps…it wouldn`t really matter.

Would LBJ be allowed to shove MJ away with his left hand before taking a shot…just like MJ did to Utah`s Byron Russell while nailing the championship winning jumper in 1998?

        • Curt Hays

That’s a good point. None of Michael’s accomplishments are valid now.

    • Curt Hays

Honestly, I think Magic Johnson was more valuable than Jordan. LBJ vs Magic would be the real matchup.

      • RedsLoveChild

        I hear ya.

Don`t get me wrong…MJ is the greatest “non-center” I`ve ever seen. My Celtic heart wants to say Larry is {Bird certainly had the skill set and competitive fire}…but, MJ was able to stay healthy plus he had crazy athleticism.

However, in a pure 1-on-1 matchup….LBJ is just too much of a damn “genetic freak”.

        • Curt Hays

At first I thought you were saying that Magic was able to stay healthy…
But even when he was sick, Jordan was a winner. 🙂
Larry Bird was a genetic freak too…if only he’d have paid someone else to build his mom’s driveway! Damnit Larry.

          • RedsLoveChild

Larry still has the first dollar he ever earned!
He wound up sacrificing his back for Georgia Bird`s driveway.

  • Red’s Cigar

I’m convinced LBJ is on PEDs. Guys head and jaw have grown about 8 sizes, classic side effects of HGH. Oh, and wades jaw is ridiculous too.

  • jason benn

sure jordan is giving up size and weight but he has it way more in the area that matters most the head game. lebron would prolly be shaking before a one on one game against a prime jordan he would be scared! for all the muscles he has how long did it take him to figure out how to even resemble having a post game, jordan blocked patrick ewing n shaq they had more size and weight then lebron too ok lebron is fast but still jordan would be in his head the second they stepped on the court, thats why larry i agree would win one on one against jordan, jumpshots only 😉 of course larry never was frazzled by anyone he got into everyones head just like jordan did with his trash talking. HE took that move from Larry 😉 would love to see that match up anyday. oh and notice how he said he wanted to play against these people not with them take notes lebron mj still schooling you and he hasnt been playing in how long now?

  • Bill

The man is still competitive even after his playing days. I laugh when I hear some try to suggest Kobe or Lebron possibly being greater than MJ. One can make the argument that Russell, Jordan, Bird, Magic, Wilt are the greatest most iconic, influential NBA players ever.

I’d put my money on Jeff Green over anyone
