Throwback Thursday: Final season of the Boston Garden

The 1994-95 Boston Celtics were the last C’s team to play in the fabled Boston Garden. The building was then torn down and replaced by the FleetCenter. The historic Garden was host to many magical moments over the years. Everything from boxing, to the Beatles, Bobby Orr and JFK made his last speech as a presidential candidate there on Nov. 7th, 1960.

Check out this footage, courtesy of brampete, filmed in January of 1995. Dominique Wilkins, Pervis Ellison and David Wesley are some of the names that made up the C’s roster that season…

My dad was in the press corps for the last press conference held there. It was pretty awesome for him.

Montross and Blue (what color is love) Edwards, how did we miss the playoffs?

The Garden was a crap-hole in many ways but somehow there was no place better to be (Unless you were at a concert or behind one of the ‘obstructed view’ pillars).
