Donte Greene is off to China

Chuck - Red's Army September 17, 2013 Celtics News 11 Comments

No surprises here. Donte Greene was destined for the waiver wire the moment he was acquired in the deal for Fab Melo.

The Celtics didn’t want his size, they wanted his non-guaranteed contract.

It’s just business. Nothing personal.

The roster now stands at 14. Training camp opens on Oct. 1.

So do we have enough money to get anyone else and stay below the tax limit? Shav anyone?

    • Raoul

We cannot afford anyone that is forth the organization’s time and effort to search for, at this point.

  • Chulinho

I’m not trying to be mean, but I don’t even know what this guy looks like nor did I remember he was on the roster. Best of luck in China, Donte.

Celts are at 71.2 mill. Tax is 71.8, we aren’t signing anyone else.
It looks like this is the team we are watching until feb. at least. A team were Jordan Crawford considers himself a leader.

No Shav. We can only sign undrafted rookies for the minimum as it stands.

  • Raoul

NO SHAV!!! We just got below the Tax Line by waiving Greene. What does that mean? Regardless of what happens next year, we can make really big moves in the off-season without worrying about repeater tax for 2014-2015.

So if you think Shav is worth repeater tax, keep it going fellas.
