If you didn’t watch the introduction of the new Celtics (minus Gerald Wallace, who was running his basketball camp), you really didn’t miss a thing. I don’t think anyone wanted to be there, especially Kris Humphries. The highlights:
- Kris Humphries says he and Rondo will be fine, and he’ll work to get Rondo’s respect. He said that the incident between him and Rondo was nothing, and that it was overblown by the media. At that point, Danny Ainge shot in with the “it might have been a flop. There’s no way Rondo could push him down that easily.” I also think Ainge is trolling Rondo by giving Humphries Kendrick Perkins’ old number.
- Ainge says trading Pierce and Garnett was difficult, and if it was up to him, both of their numbers would be retired.
- When asked if he thought all of these guys would be on the opening day roster, Ainge gave a half-hearted “sure” before explaining that adjustments need to be made to the roster.
- Kris Humphries really, really, REALLY didn’t want to be there.
This is something these guys have to do, but no one there really gave a crap about doing it. Just about every answer was a canned cliché (Humphries even gave an answer where he said “yeah, all those clichés. Just to save you guys some time).
So… welcome to Boston, fellas. Here’s a tip… hold off on finding a place. And if you ABSOLUTELY have to move here, find a nice apartment somewhere near the airport.
