C’s Summer League 2013: Kelly Olynyk Highlights vs DET

KOSL

Celtics rookie Kelly Olynyk had his second straight impressive game in the Orlando Summer League with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals.  He even dove into the stands trying to save a loose ball and got T’d up at one point.  Check the video below for his highlights vs the Pistons.

Hmmm, not bad. Rondo, Bradley, Green, Sullinger and Olynyk? That’s a young, hungry starting 5.

KO is looking good. Looking forward to watching him again today.

He can really handle it for a 7 footer. He said he used to be a PG his junior year of HS and hit a huge growth spurt… So his ability to pass, shoot, and dribble seem like they will be superior to most big men. He has the anticipation of a guard as well (5 steals). His interior defense/rebounding needs work but so far I really like his game. I was also impressed with some of his post moves.

Theres a lot of dummies out there that take a look at his white skin and hair and call it a waste of a pick and scream for Danny to get fired (check mainstream Celtics articles and what not) but I think it was a pretty solid pick considering the talent pool in the draft. Like Sully he is going to be ready to play right off the bat and he seems to be the type that just needs time to develop into a solid player. 2 years from now he could be insanely good which should be right about when we can start being good as a team again as well.

    How does Colton Iverson look?

The kid looks impressive. With KG gone, and all the young bigs we have, I hope Stevens can get a assistant that can help these kids with the NBA game, someone like Clifford Ray.
