Chris Rock doesn’t approve of the Nets deal

He might be right.

Does the addition of KG and Paul Pierce push the Nets ahead of Miami and Indiana?

They’re going to need a back-up wing who can guard LeBron James and Paul George.

Paul Pierce cannot carry that load any longer.

This is awesome, the more I think about it, the more I believe in about four or five years we’ll be talking about how Danny robbed the league during this offseason. Fastest rebuilding process ever.

I’m now wondering if Rondo will be the next to go. Because clearly Rondo is NOT fit to lead a rebuilding squad.

      ANDRE WIGGINS OR BUST, BABY!

The C’s will have 1-2 years where they won’t contend. It’s not like they instantly became the Bobcats overnight. Rondo, Bradley and Green are all complementary to each other. Rondo wasn’t fit to lead a team full of veteran’s who are 10 years older. Rondo, around guys his age and/or younger, will be a completely different ‘leader’. I think Rondo stays and he’s getting hyped up for this new challenge. It’s officially his team now. Danny will put the right pieces around him, maybe not this year but he will in the next 2 years.

we will be making fun of an old and crippled Miami Heat team.

I don’t wholly agree with Chris Rock. Of course PP and KG aren’t the PP and KG of 2008 but you’re still getting their championship experience, grit, heart and everything else that comes with the PPKG package. And at least on paper, their starting unit is better than our 2008 championship team. That said, Danny did get a good package in return. Humphries is actually a very nice player who hustles and boards. He’s a physical presence down low. I’ve read and watched good things about this Shengelia kid. He looks like a nice prospect. And if we get Marshon Brooks, that’s a good pick up, too, because he’s a good scorer and could become a Jamal Crawford-like player for us. And then there are the draft picks. You figure PPKG will retire in a year or two. PP could play longer than KG but still, PP is entering his twilight years. Joe Johnson will be entering his mid 30s in a couple of years. Bottom line: The Nets could SUCK by year 2016. ANNNNNNNND…We have the right to swap picks with the Nets in 2017? That’s just Danny fleecing Billy King.

It’s going to be hard to watch Pierce in anything other than that beautiful kelly green uniform. But I am hopeful that we’re heading in the right direction.

I’m sorry but on paper their team isn’t as good as our 08 team. A young talented but troubled PG a solid centre and 3 HOFers at the end of their prime years. Not many teams have been better in the last 10 years

well, let’s say deron williams and rondo cancel each other out. joe johnson and ray allen, too. then you have brook lopez who is better than our beloved perk. of course PPKG isn’t the PPKG of 2008 but they’re still PPKG. if they bring back blatche and add some depth behind PP and JJ, they could contend. and i hope they do next year.

won’t be shocked to see clips vs nets in finals. Having KG and Pierce and even Terry to some degree(relationship with j kidd) will bring out the best in williams and Johnson….add a little fire. Lets not forget if KG signed off on this than obviously him and pierce have talked about really having a chance to win another ring. I think their going to come into the season ready to play. They played well last year and that was tough to do without Rondo wearing out other teams D.

    No take backs!

Nets are looking kind of dangerous with their line-up. It’s going to be fun watching them play.

Of course Chris Rock would make such a comment he’s a Knicks fans. Rock is trying to down-play the Bos/BK trade. And it wouldn’t surprise me to see Celtics fans down-play the trade too. KG and PP are gone so fans are bitter. You think the Nets organization aren’t aware what they’re doing is risky. If u think about it the Nets already went all in before the ’13 season, when they signed bad contracts to Wallace, Humphries and took on Joe Johnson’s huge contract. Sure Garnett and Pierce are older, but they’re still productive and have value to contending teams. Who’s to say the Celtics will be able to contend in the next 2 or 3 yrs even with 3 first round picks. I honestly think the Celtics will never be the same now that Doc, Allen, Garnett and Pierce are gone.

The reality is free-agents aren’t attracted to Boston. If Boston was an attractive destination, then the Celtics would of been contending before 2007. Now that Doc, Garnett and Pierce are gone you can forget about free-agents coming here. C’s better hope and pray they draft the next Rose, Durant, Love or Westbrook. A big trade like this usually comes with cynicism and praises.

The Nets, a 40/1 longshot Thursday morning, turned into a 10/1 third betting choice when Garnett and Paul Pierce were traded from Boston for future draft picks and some spare bodies. Interesting article.
