Doc whacked for $25,000 for blasting refs

John - Red's Army (@RedsArmy_John) April 25, 2013 Celtics News, Doc Rivers 10 Comments on Doc whacked for $25,000 for blasting refs

When Doc Rivers said this after Game 2:

“Listen, I thought the fouls on Kevin, first of all they were horrendous,” Rivers said after the Celtics fell in to a 2-0 hole in the best-of-seven series that shifts to Boston for Game 3 Friday.

“And secondly, I thought they had a huge effect on us,” Rivers continued. “Kevin had three fouls that . . . I was . . . I mean, him not being on the floor, playing 24 minutes and never getting your rhythm, where you could see, it looked like he was going to have a game, it hurt us.

“That’s just the way it goes. There’s nothing I can do about it now. I thought if it could’ve gone either way on three of those, they all went against Kevin. I think that’s tough.”

You had to figure the NBA would have something to say.  Well, they have.

Guess Doc figured it would be $25,000 well spent if it meant evening out the calls.  Still no word on whether any Knicks will receive flopping fines… which at least a couple of them definitely deserve.

More reasons why I hate the NBA. If they fine Smith or Prigioni itll make me feel a little better I guess…

I’m not holding my breath, but it would be straight up ridiculous if they don’t at least fine Prigioni. I suspect they won’t want to fine the new 6th man of year, but Prigioni threw himself out of bounds with basically no contact. Smith’s really weren’t any better but Prigioni was on a Chris Paul level of absurd.

Should’ve gotten his money’s worth and really let loose. I would’ve at least named names.

thats why the fine pisses me off because he was clearly holding himself back to avoid it

He didn’t get his money’s worth on that..should’ve went balls to the walls and flipped out..then drop the mic when he left the podium.

The nba shouldn’t go all fine crazy. It’s like a dictatorship. Someone speaks the truth about the curuption of the leauge and they get fined. But yet they continuously ignore flopping by star players. Look at Chris Paul. Blake friffen. Lebron James. And Chris bosh whose flops are so obvious

Now, why don’t we take that fine notice given to Doc, and shove it at J.R. Smith’s flopping face?

IMO the main reason they fine everybody immediately if they criticize the refs is because they don’t want the majority of people taking a closer look at just how impactful bad reffing can be.

I don’t want to put my tinfoil hat on here, but it isn’t difficult to tell when the refs are favoring a certain team. That favoritism drastically changes the game.

Doc was just stating the obvious, what’s wrong with that.

  • the game 2 refs so obviously do not know the ruloes of the game and got so many calls wrong they would have been released(fired) at halftime in any other profession. Stern ruined the NBA, only sport where replacement refs were better than real ones. I believe the current refs should all wear jail clothes cause they steal their money.
