Your Morning Dump… Where Max is really concerned about KG’s ankle

John - Red's Army (@RedsArmy_John) March 25, 2013 Injuries, The Morning Dump 9 Comments

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Is there reason to be concerned? Cedric Maxwell says so. Maxwell was on Sports Sunday with Mike Felger to discuss the seriousness of KG’s injury.

“Well I think there’s a lot of concern when you think about it,” Maxwell said.

“Last night he got on the bus … kind of limping in. So I’m just very concerned right now looking at him last night.”

Maxwell also told Felger that Garnett was wearing a boot.

“Never a good thing,” Maxwell said. “At this time of the season, never in that situation for an older player.”

CSNNE:  Maxwell: “Very concerned” with Garnett’s ankle injury

Happy Monday everyone!!  For my next trick, I’m going to piss in your coffee while texting you pictures of your significant other having sex with that cousin you hate.

Kevin Garnett’s foot injury is a concern because it took us all by surprise.  We didn’t see, like we saw with Courtney Lee, the ankle roll.  We were sort of blind-sided by the news that he was missing the Memphis game and he was scheduled for an MRI.

Right now, the MRI results are either not in, or not public, so we don’t know what the deal is.  I will say that I also don’t like the looks of this simply because things are starting to pile up for Garnett.  The fatigue… the groin injury… the flu… and now the foot.

I think they’re all connected.  Fatigue inhibits your body’s ability to heal or fight things off.  But before I go too far off the deep end, I’ll stop here and wait for the MRI results.   If I don’t stop now, I’ll end up writing a new verse for a remix of “My Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me” (nsfw lyrics in link).

Just another reason why I think KG retires at the end of this season.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreattt. THESE are the worst kind. The silent WTF out of nowhere injuries that have killed us the last few years. Like what happened with Rondo, Sully and Shaq and although not the same but Green/Wilcox– where all of a sudden one day we here oh hes not practicing this happened–he’s “day-to-day” Next thing you know oh yeah btw hes out for the season

Am I crazy for thinking this is a PR friendly way of saying “we’re gunna give kg a few days off so he’s rested for the playoffs”?

      Yeah, they’d just say that.

Not sure that they would sit him and admit they are just resting him….remember what happened when San Antonio sat some of their stars for no health reason? Big fine from Stern, pissed off ticket holders.

Good way to really make somebody look like they have an injury…stick a big ass boot on their foot/ankle. Can’t help but to walk weird.

Of course this is just speculation. But, it is pretty unusual to not be able to find evidence of an injury happening when you go back and review game tape.

Don’t like this at all. This whole “we don’t know anything” has historically meant bad news. We’re big time screwed if KG is out for any stretch of time. I don’t want Miami in the first round.

BTW–can someone explain to me why Kenyon Martin was so untouchable again? I live in NY and he seems to be working out Pritttayy well for the Knicks right now, and saving their ass especially with Amare and Chandler injured right now. Not sure why the Cs didnt atleast give him a 10 day contract to try him out instead of those stiffs from China that always embarass themselves on the court.

This is merely the latest “body-blow” we can add to this nightmare of a season.

At the end of the playoff day…does it seriously matter if Miami sweeps the Celtics in Round 1, as opposed to Round 2?

It`s time to put this season in the trash, place it at the end of the curb…and focus on the off-season moves.
