Paul “The Truth” Pierce joined forces with his teammates and other Boston area celebrities for the fourth annual “The Truth Strikes Again” charity bowling tournament at Kings in Dedham. The charity event raised funds for Pierce’s Truth on Health Campaign and FitClub34.
The star-studded event featured a VIP reception, live auction and a host of current and past players from Boston’s professional sports teams, Celtics coaches and team executives and media personalities with ties to the Boston area. The all star line up included Pierce’s teamates Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass, Jeff Green, Courtney Lee, Shavlik Randolph, Jason Terry, D.J. White, Chris Wilcox; former Celtic Walter McCarty; Head Coach Doc Rivers, Assistant Coaches Armand Hill and Tyronne Lue. Managing Partner Wyc Grousbeck was in attendance with wife Corinne. The event was hosted by JAMN 94.5 Host Ramiro.
“Eating healthy and staying fit are key to living a heathly lifestyle, especially for young kids. Throughout my life and basketball career, stressing the importance of fitness and nutrition to others has been a priority of mine” said Pierce. “Support from my friends, colleagues, fans and sponsors for this year’s ‘The Truth Stikes’ bowling tournament has been astounding and I cannot thank everyone enough for their help in getting kids motivated to learn about nutrition and get moving.”
The Truth on Health Campaign was established by Pierce to help empower and encourage young people lead healthier lifestyles, in an effort to prevent obesity. The program includes an awareness campaign and sustainable programming for young people to live healthy lifestyles – incorporating physical fitness, healthy eating, and encouraging a commitment of 60 minutes per day dedicated to physical activity. Children can sign up to be part of the program at www.truthonhealth.org. You can see more pics from last night on my Instagram account.
