Rumors: Wolves interested in Bradley and Lee; C’s shopping Fab Melo

Chuck - Red's Army February 20, 2013 Avery Bradley, Celtics News, Courtney Lee, Fab Melo 13 Comments

According to Doogie Wolfson of 1500ESPN.com, the Wolves are interested in Avery Bradley and/or Courtney Lee:

To get Boston’s Avery Bradley, the Wolves would have to sacrifice Derrick Williams and a future first-round pick, according to a league source. That’s not happening.

Another name to keep an eye on are Boston’s Courtney Lee, whom Adelman likes, according to a team source. Lee played for Adelman in Houston.

But another team source said the Wolves were not inclined to offer a four-year deal, which Boston eventually did, when they talked with Lee’s representative last summer. In other words, the contract could bother the Wolves.

Williams is the former #2 overall draft choice who hasn’t really panned out. He can stay in Minny, for all I care.

In other news rumors, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski says the Celtics are shopping Fab Melo for rotation depth:

In pursuit of guard help, the Celtics have made rookie center Fab Melo available in trade offers, league sources tell Y! Sports.

In offering Melo, Boston’s trying to preserve control of future picks and its current rotation to fortify for this season.

Very interesting…

On one hand, we have a slew of speculation that Danny Ainge is ready to blow up the team. KG, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo are all tied to rumors.

On the other hand, we have Woj reporting that the Celtics are trying to “fortify” their rotation.

That name’s gotta be a joke right? “Doogie Wolfson” reporting on the Wolves…awesome.

  • eddysamson

Lots of talk out there today…would seem like SOMETHING is going to happen.

      Doubtful, thankfully.

The new CBA is brutal, and the teams that are interested in our vets are contenders looking to get something for nothing to get them over the top.

The C’s will do better sticking to the original end-of-era plan.

I’m trying my best to be productive at work, but twitter is keeping me online. I might as well take a vacation @ work tomorrow..lol.

In other “news” Rondo’s agent said that Ainge assured him that Rondo isn’t getting traded so that’s one name to take off Chris Broussard’s list.

    • Roy

knowing Broussard he will keep putting out there that we are trying to trade him. He pretty much listed every player in the NBA was available to trade so it makes him look great in “predicting” who is being moved

nothing is going to happen. The C’s will make it to the ECF and lose to the heat. All things considered that is pretty good season for this group.

  • Kenny

Wow, they jumped off the Melo bandwagon quick. I thought he’d at least get an offseason.

    • Larry Legend

Celts not making a big move. It’s not happening. Melo can go for all I care. He’s useless. Get a serviceable big and let’s go!

We need an additional guard. We are not going to trade our two best, especially at the bargain price we are paying them.

  • Rhyso

They will make a ‘big’ move ;)

Bass + Melo + Pick for Gortat. 3 team trade i bet

  • Reggie35RIP

Sweet mother of god… Pray this fools play trade never happens. Title should be: “Hey Danny Ainge, this is how to blow up the Boston Celtics and die a slow painful death”.
