Jeff Green and Paul Pierce rip the heart out of the Lakers

Chuck - Red's Army February 8, 2013 Celtics News, Jeff Green, Paul Pierce, Videos 27 Comments

This sequence was the highlight of the night.

If the Lakers had any hopes of coming back from a 20 point deficit, it ended with the Jeff Green dunk, block on old man Jamison and Paul Pierce 25-foot trey.

I went CRAZY at home and the best part is that my sis is a Lakers fan and we were watching together. The look on her face was priceless..lol

Lmfao jynx! My sister is a Nash fan and a Celtic hater so now she’s a new Laker fan. She made a D’antoni face during that run.

Now imagine that sequence up high in the Garden surrounded by Lakerfans :)

      • Stephanie

Man I wish I was there I bet the Garden was ROCKING *KG voice*

Its about time, I knew Jeff was capable of this type of play

    • LA Flake

Jeff’s been earning his paycheck for a few weeks now.

Thats hilarious Stephanie, same thing at my house im originally from California so we had a Laker family and all my friends were Laker fans. Needless to say after that sequence everyone shrank in their chair!

  • KY Celts fan

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned this yet, but that entire sequence was all at the expense of Antwan Jamison. The bad shot by Jamison that missed everything that led to the fast break dunk, then a lazy layup attempt that should have been a dunk gets blocked, then the transition 3 by Pierce over who……. that’s right, Jamison. Hilarious!

    • LA Flake

And the best part of that sequence isn’t even in that clip which was Pierce pointing to the parquet and yelling, “Not in here! Not in here!” Classic Pierce. I’ll never forget watching him.

    I loved this sequence!!

Jeff Green belongs on a team that rebounds and runs….his talents are not designed for the slow paced, half-court game.

We may have already seen the last of Rondo. He`s talented, but the Celtics do not specifically need him. What they do need is a talented rebounding machine, which Rondo might be able to bring them in a trade. He`ll fully recover from his injury, that`s a given. His trade value is still very high.

Sequence last night was AMAZING in person

  • brian

Sure looks like something lebron does.

  • Roy

Couldn’t be happier that Green has finally arrived! Man that was a thing of beauty. You just know he is going to do something great when he does that quick spin towards the basket

    • stephanie

I take it back that I wanted to trade Jeff Green for just about anyone a few weeks ago.

  • Jester00

Just throwing this out there Jeff Green may not suck

    • KY Celts fan

Holy Shit! I never thought I’d see the day!

I HOPE Jeff can get some credit now (and DANNY too). It took a long while, but very much worth the investment.

Green, Lee and Bradley (Sully too)are doing some amazing things. Hopefully the cover of the “old team” will continue to allow us to surprise those teams and fans not up to speed. Bradley’s steal on Kobe and his overall rendering of Nash to be basically useless was great to watch. If Fab develops into something, Danny has pulled off an amazing and rarely successful “on the fly rebuild”, with or without Rondo. Rondo will just be the icing.
