Bradley’s Rib Injury Possibly During Collision with Robin Lopez

Jay January 17, 2013 Avery Bradley 6 Comments

Avery Bradley suffered a rib injury during the loss to the New Orleans Hornets and might miss some time to recover.  After reviewing his game time on the floor, it appears that he injured himself while attempting to steal the ball from Robin Lopez in the fourth quarter.  With about 4:32 remaining in the fourth quarter, AB lunged at Lopez attempting to steal the ball, and as he did this, Lopez turned and they collided.  On the next possession, Lopez hits a jumper at the top of the key and you can see AB holding his side.  He leaves the game shortly after, while officials review Paul Pierce’s foul on Greivis Vasquez to determine if it was a two or three-pointer.  See CSNNE screen shot below:

If I ever had to choose an NBA player to hunt a willy mammoth with it would 100% be Robin Lopez.

Jay I think it happened earlier in the game. He sat out the middle part of the game and didn’t come back until the 4th quarter. He was great in the first as was the team and it’s defense, then when he went out they struggeled the rest of the game. He came back in, in the fourth but was not the same and guys were getting past him.

Yeah I also think it was earlier in the game. He fell flat off a moving screen and was down for a bit grimacing. When he got up, he asked doc to takee him out. I think it might have been reaggravated during the play above though.
