Cousins boogies out of interview about suspension

John - Red's Army (@RedsArmy_John) December 28, 2012 Around the NBA 23 Comments on Cousins boogies out of interview about suspension

Hah… see what I did there with the headline?

That’s a much fun as we’re going to have here, people, as the DeMarcus Cousins saga continues its swirl down the toilet in Sacramento.

I know a lot of you are openly lobbying for Cousins to join the C’s.  And on pure talent alone, he could be a massive help.  But the guy you see in the video is comes with all that talent, and that’s just too much for me.  I’m not beyond adding a malcontent in hopes of Kevin Garnett helping them out.  But Boogie has been a problem for coaches from high school to multiple incidents with the Kings.  Too much of a problem for my tastes.

The guy in this video?  I don’t want him.  As much as I’m drawn to the 20-10 talent… I just don’t like what he could do to the locker room.

It’s like taking steroids with a shared needle.  The results could be great… but you’re taking one f’ing hell of a chance with your overall health.  I’m not willing to take that risk.

Wait where did he boogie in the video? I thought you meant he literally dances away from the reporters to avoid a question. He was certainly unhappy to be answering questions but I didn’t see him boogie lol.

    • frickenWaaaltaaah

      his nickname is ‘Boogie Cuz’

  • G4L

He is def a punk! But KG & Rondo are seen as punks outside of this city, Sometimes you just dont know the whole story. He look like he is sick of the Kings & might just need a change of location.

  • RedsLoveChild

As bleak as the Celtics` situation is…even claiming this cancerous POS off the waiver-wire would be a horrific mistake!

He`ll be out of the NBA long before his 30th birthday.

BTW…has anyone bothered to notice that this allegedly talented 6`11″ phenom has a FG% of .414?

    • Chulinho

His shot selection is horrific to say the least.

      • RedsLoveChild

Stevie Wonder couldn`t shoot worse from short distance!

        • Chulinho

          Hahaha…sad, but true!

  • Matt W

I really don’t see a problem with this interview. He reminds me of Perk.

  • frickenWaaaltaaah

I don’t think it’s fair to say he ‘stormed out.’ He gave them 3 minutes. They started getting rude to him about halfway in, trying to provoke him into saying stuff.

In his situation, he really shouldn’t be talking to the press much at all. They just want him to slip up and say crazy stuff and start more trouble for him. They are NOT on his side.

And just look what they do to him when he leaves after three minutes; they make another fake ‘Demarcus is imature and crazy’ story to get their headline and nevermind that they are running him down.

They call it “Demarcus Cousins Storms Out” when they should have called it “Demarcus Cousins gives rude reporters a minute more than he should have, walks away from people trying to start trouble for him.”

Typical press vulture slimeball hack journalist crap.

  • Chulinho

I feel like I just watched a Rajon Rondo interview. Albeit, Rondo is a bit more clever with his responses.

you must have really thought the panthers should have trade Cam then. He just looked like he was removing himself emotionally from the questioning so as NOT to get pissed off and say the wrong thing. Yea he looked down but Rondo sometimes doesn’t sound that far off and yet he prob would if he played for the kings. However, the other reports about his past would make you at least think before making a trade.

  • Drew

I’m not sure I understand the logic behind putting a player in a green uniform and he’s all of a sudden mature and living the Celtic way. I hear people saying all the time, “Yeah, he’s a head case but put him in a Celtics uniform and his problems will be fixed.” Why is that? Look at Rondo, he was as mature as he has ever been in the championship year and has gotten progressively worse over the years. Glen Davis was just terribly immature the entire time he was in Boston. Nate Robinson just flat out couldn’t be tamed. What the hell leads anyone to believe that Demarcus Cousins’ problems will be fixed as soon as he steps foot in Boston? He’s cancer, I don’t want to see that guy in a Celtics uniform until he’s proven that he is mature and can keep it together.

I see nothing here that alarms me. Well characterized by the above posters.

The only thing that alarms me is the notion that we’d rather play no defense with a team full of choirboys than make a run at a guy who might, if he grows up, become a future cornerstone of the franchise.

  • ZabJudah

i already put him on the celtics in 2k13 my squad is a beast now

    • Drew

Can you get suspended and ruin team chemistry in NBA 2k13?

  • Errick

This is post is bullshit the only reason we are discussing this is because no one here wants to see bradley go. ME neithr. But we need someon with Cousins talent. It could be Gortat VArejao Smith whoever and will have to part with bradley regardless. So there stop bitching about it and lets see what happens. The same thing was posted here about Gortat how we wouldnt wnat him here, anothe bg man neede that bradley was involve in the rumor . Just let it go to get you gotta give

Even when he was at Kentucky, I always saw Cousins as a Sheed clone. There’s very little difference between them. After all the bad boy years in Portland, Wallace went on to be a major contributer in the league. Cousins is gonna be the same way.

  • Quest

This guy is not worth all the added trouble/baggage he brings with him.

  • Astarot

I can’t see any problem with this vid, he gave an interview and that’s it.But what I see (I’m not sayin’ I want him on Boston team) but what I see is he wants to get out of King, he just doesn’t care anymore and when the guy that young doesn’t care it’s a problem for him and the team he’s on.

  • brian

We don’t have assets that the I kings want. Unless you can give picks and bass or Lee then forget it. I’d rather wait for fab to develop into tyson chandler 2.0 instead of selling the farm for this guy

After watching this video I want cousins even more. He has the same attitude that Perk, Rondo, KG have. We need that toughness back. Our team is soft, we lose the physical battles. Teams aren’t scared of us anymore. Our team has the nice-guy-nerd Jeff Green feel now.

  • Dan

I agree with SF Celts Fan, maybe a player with that kind of attitude would work… He’d need to learn to respect his team mates and the organization, but I like his “tough” attitude.
