Video: Blake Griffin is still good at dunking

John - Red's Army (@RedsArmy_John) December 18, 2012 Around the NBA 5 Comments

I’m not sure if you’re paying attention, but the Clippers are the second best team in the NBA right now, thanks to their 10th win in a row.

Part of that win over the Pistons involved Blake Griffin reminding us all that he has above average jumping ability.

Of course, that’s the showtime aspect of a pretty good team.  We’ll all ooh and ahhh at this video… but there’s more to it.  There’s a legitimately good team playing in the Staples Center this year, and they’re not wearing purple and gold.

I’m not surprised, they’ve been getting real good over the last 2 years. Theres a lot of good competition in the NBA right now, especially now that the Warriors, Bucks, Grizzlies, Clippers, etc are all heating up.

Bucks… I think you mistaking my friend. The Bucks aren’t on the same level as the other teams you mentioned nor would they beat any of those teams in a seven game series.

Tell that to the Celtics. We have the same record and have lost to them twice.

Bucks are good and will be getting better in the next 1-2 years unless they do something stupid. Thats what I mean by heating up any of these teams…Rockets, Jazz, Pacers, Hawks, Nets, Knicks…

Now would be a good time to remember a couple of my old posts..

Dwight Howard is the most overrated player in the NBA. Puffed up stats on teams with poor rebounders and defenders. Offensively challenged and couldn’t recognize an assist if it bit him on the ass.

“The Lakers are going nowhere this season. They have no chemistry and no bench and outside of DH, no defense. The Clippers will win more games and go deeper in the playoffs than the Lakers. Write it down.”

Mega Whirled Peas is a joke and one of the main reasons they will have no chemistry. Jamison’s days are far behind him as he shot only 40% last season on a terrible team and couldn’t guard Scal in a suit and tie if he had to. The other guys you mentioned could have a positive impact if they ever get meaningful minutes which I somehow doubt.
The words “Lakers” and “Dysfunctional” will be seen together in many sentences this year.

Watching flashy dunks is like watching paint dry. I’ll take a ball hawk picking off a pass or a defender running a guy off the 3 point line and into the back court any day over a flashy dunk. Unnecessary, flashy dunking is terrible. Blake Griffin sucks.
