The Maine Red Claws moved to 2-0 on the season after a 117-112 win over the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants.

Former C’s camp invitee Micah Downs led the Red Claws with 28 points and 15 rebounds, while Kris Joseph put up 23.  Joseph only shot 6-22 from the field, but he was 10-10 from the line (Downs was 11-11.)  Fab Melo shot 7-10 to finish with 14 points, 4 rebounds and a block.

On the Ft. Wayne side, old friend JaJuan Johnson struggled, scoring just 4 points on 2-8 shooting.  He did have 8 rebounds.  He’s shooting 7-23 on the season.

I like KJ and I hope he gets a chance to play in the real league this season if we start getting a bunch of injuries. I have a feeling he might be decent (not good, but not Jeff Green vs the Magic bad)

I should clarify and say I hope we DONT actually get the injuries

Mad Ants…. why didn’t we think of that? I really like how this team looks with the exception of Ayers and Melo. Out of the 2 games i saw, Melo had 1 quarter where he didn’t do too bad. He’s not getting many minutes either. This was the second time Plumlee got the better of him (Plumlee owned him in summer league too). He didn’t do too bad in the final quarter of this one, but he got winded quickly and stopped playing. In one play, he was the ONLY player to just walk up the court. On that same play he completely gave up on the rebound. Very odd. That’s what makes me think he’s out of shape. I’ld give him this full year in the D-league. If he doesn’t improve alot… dump him. Personally, from what I’ve seen, he’s not going to be much of anything in this league.

Been loving having the Claws in Portland for the last 3 years, but now that we are Celtic exclusive I actually give a shit. Aside from seeing Bradley play 2 years ago while sitting second row this season is going to be the best. Hell, chances are we’ll be seeing him rehab in a few weeks too.
