Your Morning Dump… Where the Celtics haven’t figured out Jeff Green yet

John - Red's Army (@RedsArmy_John) November 9, 2012 Celtics News, The Morning Dump 9 Comments

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

“We haven’t really figured out Jeff and when to use Jeff or felt an urgency to go to Jeff,” said Ainge. “I think that Jeff has had some favorable matchups through the course of the game, but at the same time our main offensive sets that go through [Rajon] Rondo and Paul [Pierce] and [Kevin Garnett] are working. There’s not really a need to change what we’re doing to go there.

“I think Jeff has been inconsistent in his production and just trying to find his way. I think him more than any other player, is just trying to find where he contributes. What we need from Jeff, is we need him to play that great defense, rebound every night. There’s going to be nights where he can get that 20 points off the bench, and some nights where his number isn’t called that much,” he added. “He’s been fairly productive when we’ve called his number, but he hasn’t been a productive playing off the ball and playing off of our stars.”

Jeff Green is THE topic right now.  He’s the guy everyone on TV and radio wants to talk about.   And I’m not going to launch into a big thing about him because, quite frankly, what the hell else can I say?  We know Doc is going to push him, and we know the entire team is playing pretty poorly, so the only thing we can do is wait to see what the results are.

It’s a bit unfair to put all of the Celtics problems on him.  His contract raised expectations and makes him an easy target for the “we get four more years of this?” comments.

Everyone involved is fully aware of the situation.  Doc’s got to figure out how all the pieces fit, and how to use Green properly.  He’s like a Swiss Army Knife.  He’s got all sorts of tools.  We just need to a couple of them.

I don’t feel sorry for Green. He needs to be assertive and more agressive offensively and defensively. There’s nothing complicated or difficult about Green’s lack of play. He’s been in the league for 6yrs and started on OKC for 4yrs, and if Green can’t figure out his role in this team there’s a problem.

It’s too early in the season to pass judgement on Heff Green. Remember, he did not play all season due to a heart ailment. With his talent and ability, I’m certain he still has plenty of upside. So Celtics fans, can u please stop being jerks and stop shitting on this guy and give him a chance? Thanks!

He’s not a baseball prospect. We don’t have a kid developing in AAA that needs 2-3 years to figure it out. This is his 6th year in the NBA. He’s on the verge of being a veteran. Time for some results.

I noticed last game he did that patented Pierce drive the lane, throw hands up, pray for a foul move that drives me crazy. but as usual it resulted in a turnover. Jeff, you aren’t Paul Pierce. Stop trying that move. It has a zero percent success rate with you. I realize this isn’t the issue here, just pointing out that he’s a bone head and should stop doing that.

It`s official : Kobe just fired Mike Brown!

It was a bad hire from the beginning. Though I like watching the Lakers squirm.

Agreed, I don’t think anyone who pays attention to The Lakers was ever doubting that he’d get fired sooner than later. Their front office seems to be more concerned with having a coach that has experience in the head coaching department than actually finding the right fit for the team. Brian Shaw is the clear fit for The Lakers head coaching position for numerous reasons. If they make the mistake of not hiring him AGAIN it would shock me. That being said, I still hate The Lakers and this whole thing is very funny to me.

Jeff green is the John Koncak of the Celtic. He sucks

Memo to Jeff: just go out and fucking play! Quit thinking, quit worrying, play some fucking defense, and be aggressive. In other words play like a Boston Celtic. I’m rooting for ya. Lots of fans are, but goddamn you’re trying my patience…not asking for triple doubles, just let it fly for the 20-25 mins you get. Be active. Run! Play with purpose and do it with authority. Then let the chips fall where they may. Let’s go!!!
