Your Morning Dump… Where Keyon Dooling wants to play for the Heat?

Keyon Dooling

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Former Magic G Keyon Dooling announced he was retiring — at least for a few minutes. Word is he’d be interested in joining the Heat. Who isn’t? …

Orlando Sentinel

I refuse to believe this rumor. Keyon Dooling is a man of character and principle. He would not fake retirement and say he wanted to spend more time with his family if that wasn’t the case.

And there must be something in the CBA that prevents a player from pulling a stunt like this to play for another team.

One interesting fact to fuel the rumor – Dooling is from Fort Lauderdale, FL. I’m not sure if he still has a home there, but playing for the Heat could technically allow him to spend more time with his family.

Dooling’s retirement leaves a large void in the players’ union, reports Adrian Wojnarowski.

No! He wouldn’t do that. Where did that rumor come from anyway?

  • GeeZee

Just no. It’s not in Keyon’s character to do something like this. If this happens, I’ll be devastated. I was already a little unhappy that he left in the first place but this would just be twisting the knife.

    True that!

People make up a lot of rumors. When his retirement was announced, I saw Ira Winderman (some Heat reporter) make the suggestion on twitter that Dooling should join the Heat b/c he’s from Ft. Lauderdale. It could be from that. Let me go find that tweet and post it….. Here it is:

It would be annoying but do the heat even want him? Basketball wise it wouldn’t make them better but yeah it would be annoying especially the praise he gave KG mainly last year and doc and Rondo.

  • RedsLoveChild

This is almost too good to be true.

    Dooling & Daniels are ex-Celtics!

  • Danno

It wasn’t in Rays character to abandon the Celtics for Miami either….

They’re all fakers, except PP and KG.

  • I saw this yesterday……can’t be true. If it is, there will be some serious venom directed his way….

Com’on its the NBA. Its about business. Its about a pay cheque. He was waived being on a non-quaranteed contract 2 wks before training camp. What’s that all about. Ray Allen did it so why all of sudden another player can’t do it. How many other players have “retired” and then returned to the NBA. “Retirement” media strategy, how many other players have “retired” only to return on another team.

If its true the bigger guestion is why are players jumping ship and why do vet players have to be persuaded to put Boston on their job radar. What’s happening we don’t get to see? Danny plays his players like business pawns but its a tragedy and being disloyal when players do it.

Just win the games and bring the Banner home. I am tired of this constant roster merry go round.

Dooling already played for the Heat. Once is enough.

FWIW, his agent is reporting he has no interest in the Heat.
