Your Morning Dump… Where Bill Russell is recovering

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell recently underwent a heart procedure, but is feeling well and is hoping to be back in Boston in late October, according to his business manager Stuart Layne.

Celtics vice president of media relations/alumni relations Jeff Twiss spoke with Layne on Monday and relayed that Russell is on the road to recovery.

After a scare a few days ago, the news about Bill Russell is getting better.  The 78 year-old legend is now up and about, and hopefully he’ll be making a few appearances at the Garden this season.

I know he’s getting up there in age, but it’s tough to imagine him not around.

Ok, enough of that.  If you want to have some fun with Bill Russell… and if you’ve got a Hulu Plus account… you can go here and watch him host Saturday Night Live from December of 1984.

Or… here he is on the Flip Wilson show… which I’m sure maybe 5 of you have heard of.

Hope the city finishes his statue before the man pass away. They taking too long to finish that and the man won’t be here forever, it’s better to honor him while he’s alive.

Agreed. I personally think he should’ve had one a long time ago.
