Your Morning Dump… Where Waltah & Antoine are reuniting

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Players from the 1996 national championship team will be playing in an exhibition prior to the UK alumni game on Sept. 15, the school announced.

Derek Anderson, Anthony Epps, Walter McCarty, Jared Prickett, Jeff Sheppard, Wayne Turner and Antoine Walker are confirmed participants.

They will be playing a team comprised of participants in John Calipari’s Fantasy Experience weekend.

Combined with the alumni game — which itself will feature two rosters of former Kentucky players now in the NBA — and the home football game against WKU at 7 p.m. (during the UK Hall of Fame induction weekend) that same day, it will be a weekend packed with past and present Wildcats.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday on

This is going to be a must-watch.  I need to find this on TV or something or else I won’t be able to live with myself.   Be sure to follow that Yahoo link to see a cool poster of the 1996 Kentucky team.

And of course, the big question is whether Rajon Rondo will play in the alumni game.  Well… that’s yet to be determined.  It’s possible (he did play in a Kentucky thing last summer during the lockout), but nothing’s official… despite how Kentucky Athletics wants to fool us into thinking he will be (h/t Ben Rohrbach).

John Wall, Anthony Davis, Rajon Rondo, DeMarcus Cousins… all of those players and many more may be coming back for the 2012 UK Alumni Charity game set for Sept. 15 at Rupp Arena. The game will be comprised of all former UK players that are currently playing in the NBA.

(The emphasis there is mine)

“Hey everyone look at all the players that used to play here that might be here in a few weeks!!  Don’t pay attention to the possibility that absolutely none of them might show up… just focus on the big names and buy tickets!!!”

We all know Rondo’s on a big tour of Asia for Red Bull… so we’ll have to wait and see if he comes back for this game.
