Chris Wilcox cleared for contact

KWAPT July 2, 2012 Celtics News, Injuries 14 Comments

Some excellent news for Chris Wilcox and Celtics fans: the Boston forward has been cleared for “full court contact”. The good news was reported early this afternoon by NBA.com’s David Aldridge. Celtics’ fans remember that the roster was hit with not one, but two cardiac related injuries last year, as both Wilcox and teammate Jeff Green were shut down. Wilcox has been working out in North Carolina recently, “lifting weights and doing cardio..” according to Aldridge. He averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 28 games for Boston last year. He seemed to fit in well, and I personally would love to see him back in Boston.

    Hmm…
Rondo, Bradley, Sully, Green, Melo, JJJ, Moore and possibly Wilcox, Stiemer and maybe Bass…That’s a pretty good collection of young talent! Instead of Bass I’d rather sign Nenad Kristic and bring back Erden.

Do people really want Bass back in Boston though? I don’t. He was totally exposed as a one-dimensional player with low BB IQ in the playoffs.

Bass makes the game more difficult than it has to be. Let him find a job elsewhere!

I competely agree, Bass disappointed me he completely lacked a low post game and averaged a measely 5 or so rebounds a game. Sure he’s a good jump shooter but his price tag now will be around at least 6 million (what Big Baby got) and I just don’t think he’s worth it. Id rather sign Wilcox for the minimum which he probably would object to.

don’t forget: bass’s jumper abandoned him and he pretty much choked his way thru the PO. let him walk. he sux.

Yea idunno why people like Bass so much. Jujuan Johnson can hit 12/15 foot jumpers, we don’t need to pay a guy 6.5 million to do that..

I like Bass, but for a lot less I’ll take Wilcox.

I think sullinger and melo are capable of being nba role players this season. And sullinger has a better low post game than bass RIGHT NOW. And Melo is a legit 7 foot 1 265 in shoes, and young healthy size is something we haven’t had in a LONG time. Also I love that were going after Jason Terry, but he’s 35 we need to be going after Mayo (24) or crawford (32)

Great news and I hope he’s back in green…..unlike Green, Chris Wilcox has proven his worth in the NBA, and will be a good value to the C’s. Go Terps! Go C’s

After seeing Gerald Green in a few games with the Nets last season, I would consider saving some dough and getting him.

How can we sign waived player, as Im sure I read that LA can not bring back Fisher coz they waived him ?

  • kricky

I like him. He was really good running the break with Rondo. Is he worth the MLE though?

  • Hudson

My problem with Bass is his inability to catch and shoot. He catches, looks down, dribbles at least once giving the defender time to step up and contest…it’s frustrating to watch because his open looks become contested every time. This is in contrast to KG and Ray who catch the ball, spot up and shoot it….
