Your Morning Dump… The Spurs are interested in Kevin Garnett

Chuck - Red's Army June 11, 2012 The Morning Dump 2 Comments

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

The Spurs will consider everything and everyone this summer when free agency begins. But one option tossed out this weekend by one in the Spurs organization is not just another name.

Kevin Garnett.

Don’t know him?

He’s better known in San Antonio as Tim Duncan’s evil twin.

There was a time when it looked like Duncan and Garnett might face off against each other for the 2012 title. Duncan came within two wins of the Finals, Garnett one.

San Antonio Express – Duncan and Garnett: Together at last?

Well that didn’t take long. Just one day after the end of the Celtics season, the rumors and speculation about Kevin Garnett’s future have begun.

As far as rumors go, this one is pretty thin.

While I think it’s Boston or retirement for KG, a coach like Gregg Popovich could be attractive to the Big Ticket. Could Tim Duncan’s alleged hatred for Garnett factor into this equation? I doubt it. Duncan is smart enough to realize winning trumps all.

I just don’t see this happening. It’s been going around for weeks that its Boston or bust for KG, and I think the Celtics organization and Garnett will be able to come to some sort of deal if he decides to keep playing. He won’t do a 1 or 2 year deal anywhere but here

This is a joke. I’m in agreement with you two – if Garnett doesn’t retire then he’s a Celtic.
