well, there you go. Time to step it up, fellas! Win one for the Gipper! or whomever you wish to win a game for. Maybe your baby’s mama. I don’t care.

  • Danno

Even Sherrod says they’re still waiting on official word.

  • http://www.redsarmy.com/home/2012/01/ray-allen-to-play-jermaine-to-sit.html#comments Rondo’s #1 Fan

i wont believe it till i hear it from more than 1 person.

  • chachee

He’s as good as gone, come the offseason. This is the beginning of the end for this Big 3 era. KG, Ray and Paul don’t like Rondo or his attitude. If KG and Ray decide to re-sign with the C’s, don’t expect to see Rondo in a green uniform. Even though he has a cap friendly contract, Danny is going to get “screwed” when he goes to trade Rondo. No one wants a guy that implodes like this, accident or not. Ainge will have no choice but to trade him for 10 cents on the dollar. Rondo and the organization both need a change of scenery.

  • Quest

Hopefully BASS and AB can show they can play in the bright lights of the playoffs and not be intimidated.
How a few seconds of bad judgement can change everthing so much.
Hope Rondo realizes this coud be his last chance too at a ring for the next 2-3 yrs while C’s rebuilding roster. Then hes’ what pushing 30 looking for a last big contract. Future is short in the NBA No time to mess it up.

  • Quest

    And your sources are…….

  • KY Celts fan

you’re just making stuff up now. KG just called Rondo “the black lion” and Voltron this morning. what are you talking about they don’t like him?

  • CoachBo

    Sigh.
Another day, more selfish me-first immaturity from Rondo.
Cue Paul with another idiotic round-o of excuses. I don’t give a shit whether the call was bad or not – I am inclined to think it was – professionals don’t disrespect their team and the game by pitching a hissy fit like that. That crap’s for junior high school kids.
Let his teammates and his coaches down big-time last night. I hope the organization drains six figures from his wallet for it, as well.

  • paul

Omg, give it a frickin’ rest. Doc and the guys made a big point of NOT throwing Rondo under the bus, so why you so eager to do it?

  • chachee

I don’t know why i even bother. Do you not remember the bottle through the television outburst in last years playoffs? Rondo calling out “veteran teammates” because HE was the player getting all of the negative criticism (attention) from Doc? That lingered throughout the offseason. Guys respect his talent. KG is right, he is the “voltron”. That doesn’t mean they LIKE him. And i still stand by my previous post. He will be traded in the offseason. Some team will give Danny a 1st rounder for him.

  • paul

    Ra Ra Rondo Sucks!!!
    Hate Him Hate HIm!!
    Ra Ra Rondo Sucks!!!
    Bait Him Bait Him!!!
Kill Rondo Kill Rondo Kill Kill Kill!!!
‘Coach’ Bo, sucks that your hate party got ruined, huh? Sorry, man.

    Rondo`s reputation preceded him.
There would be no suspension…if RR had not thrown the ball at ref Sean Wright two months ago.

  • http://www.hoopchina.com usherxupeng

    oh my God

  • mike

I was hoping we would get lucky and rondo would not be suspended, but the decision comes as no surprise. While I think his punishment is fair, I do believe they MUST reprimand the official for his terrible calls that were inexcusable. Yes referees make mistakes, but he gets paid BIG money to go out there and do his job correctly. What he did last night were not just “excusable mistakes.” I don’t believe the calls are the reason the celtics lost but I am sick and tired of these lousy officials taking away from the game. College officiating is fine, the NBA’s should be too………

  • Danno

Paul makes the comments section of this blog unreadable.
You guys should seriously incorporate an age verification tool, or an IQ test prior to letting readers post comments.

  • chachee

He couldn’t apologize when he threw the ball at the ref in february, and he won’t apologize for bumping the ref yesterday. he’s stubborn, careless, and arrogant. The only “true” friend he has on that team is Dooling. You want sources? Read Jackie McMullan’s article today on ESPN.com. If she isn’t a reliable source for the NBA, I don’t know who is. Bottom line, teammates stand up for one another. KG, Doc, Paul, their not going to voice their frustrations out to the media and cause an even worse distraction. I’m sure they’re letting him know how they truly feel, behind closed doors. He’s a kid, an immature one at that. As a fan, how can you root for a guy that does this? Not only is it embarrassing for the players, its embarrassing for the organization. As much as people want to rag on Kobe, LeBron, D Wade, at least these guys know enough NOT to come in contact, much less bump, a referee. Mistake, accident, whatver you want to call it, he just cost the Celtics the series. The last go around for the Big 3, who brought Rondo along for the ride and got him a ring in 2008, this is his way of saying, “Thanks”. Good riddance.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/lobbe Caterpillar from Italy

    No big news.
He’s been suspended like expected, CoachBo goes hard on him and Paul is the Rondo Lone and Extreme defender.
The truth is, we put ourselves in a freakin’ hole.. Damn.. :/

  • http://profile.typepad.com/vandelay28 Lakerhater

Whatever. Celtics in 5. We played like crap and almost won, really not worried. Yes Rondo f#cked up, but if your gonna do it do it in game 1. People here act like he did it in game six and now we face elimination. Take a breath, we’re going to be just fine.

  • chachee

I can accept the fact that the C’s couldn’t shot the ball yesterday. That happens. When you’re a jump shooting team, with no post play and no rebounding abilities, if you shoot poorly, you’re gonna lose the game, regardless of how well you’re playing defense. They held the Hawks to under 90 points. The C’s should win when they hold their opponents to under 90. Hopefully, Pierce won’t go 1-11 in 3pt territory again. Another concern, they had no answer for Josh Smith. He torched them in that 1st quarter as well as the glass all game. If that wasn’t troublesome enough, Joe Johnson had an even worse game than Paul Pierce. Don’t expect that to happen a lot this series. We lost and their best player didn’t even show up. Meanwhile, our best player CAN’T show up for the next game. First the Sox collapsed, then the Pats collapsed, then the Bruins collapsed, NOW its the Celtics turn. Title town? That’s a joke.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/frickenwaaaltaaah frickenWaaaltaaah

In a hole? Not at all.
Road team only has to win one game on the other team’s floor. They aren’t in a hole unless/until they lose a game at home. You run them out of your building, and then you’ve at least got a shot to TCB in a game 7.

  • John Rocker

Buddy, if you don’t like teams from Boston then why are you a fan? Go home ked.

  • John Rocker

And since when is losing the super bowl “collapsing”?

  • Quest

NBA Stu Jackson confirmed one game suspension tomorrow’s game for Rondo. Hope you are required to sit courtside and watch the consequences of your actions. Get a win forgiveness will be spilled but loose then you may be the most unpopular celtic player for the rest of the playoffs.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/redsarmy Red’s Army

He can’t even be in the arena.

  • mike

Cost them the series? Way to be over dramatic and bail on the entire team. If they cost them the series then don’t bother watching tomorrow night, or friday night or any other games for that matter. You already know how this series will end.

  • mike

If he* cost them the series.

  • mike

When the going gets tough, Chachee jumps ship.

  • mike

For real, people seem to think first round series are still 5 games or something….

  • putjinthehall

good point, just disregard leading the NBA in assist for the first time since 1960 not to mention 6 triple doubles, when the next highest guy had 1 total.
Look he isn’t perfect stop fucking expecting him to be. He isn’t going anywhere.
Ray is the one out the door not Rondo.

  • putjinthehall

who gives a shit if they “like” him.
    They do respect him.
Chachee taking over for Eisenman. That wasn’t easy for you to do I bet.

  • putjinthehall

    Ohh the drama Chachee!
Seriously put your panties away. You couldn’t be any more off if you were standing in the desert swearing at everyone that it was the ocean.

  • putjinthehall

whats the weather like on your planet?

  • Jim.

He might not be there physically, but it will be like Hamlet without the prince.

  • putjinthehall

Rondo will be unpopular till he plays in game 3
give me a break with this bullshit.

  • Quest

If the Celtics lose game 3 expect a lot of “Rondo Haters” to appear voicing their opinions loudly.

  • Todd

Easy bro. Pats didn’t collapse they should’ve won that game. Seems like the celts are in a hole but it’s not the first time. They’ll come back and take this series in six.

  • Todd

    Does he get booed?

  • Todd

Yeah this kid is a troll. Don’t pay any attention to him. I will say that rondos triple doubles are misleading. 10/10/10 is great but is there a difference between that and a guy who puts up 28/7/7? I agree with you putjinthehall, the assists are impressive. ray might not play this postseason. his days with the celts could be numbered

  • CoachBo

    He wouldn’t pass either.

  • Quest

Booed…. only if its a conservative crowd otherwise I expect some colourful language.

  • James Eisenman

Another country heard from. At least Paul uses his name when he blogs his incessant Rondo protection crap. putjinthehall, who must have listened to me and removed the dj from his screen name because I told him that it was blasphemous for someone who makes comments like his to have DJ in his screen name, is the other one of the Rondo-loving bookends on this site. Rondo is what he is. He makes no attempt at playing defense anymore. If he makes the all-defense team this year, I intend to hunt down every idiot that voted for him and force feed them Rondo’s defensive lowlights like the site’s famous Clockwork Orange picture. Without Rondo, the Celts will be fine tomorrow night. I predict that PP will step up and lead the team in points and assists and that the black hole of Rondo’s non-existant defense will be filled by Pietrus or Sasha or someone else who actually stays with his man when he steps beyond the 3-point line. I think we’ll be fine. His arrogance and lack of team spirit will prove again that we don’t really need him to win and, unlike Paul’s constant mantra, HE IS NOT THE BEST PLAYER ON THIS TEAM!

  • http://profile.typepad.com/rtcoaster Shawncvd

um…ATL hasn’t won yet and the C’s haven’t lost. Sunday the C’s offense was horrid, that ref was awful, and Rondo made a huge mistake. Your giving the Hawks too much credit if you believe what you do.
I would puke if Rondo is traded for a first rounder. TG your not the GM of the C’s.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/rtcoaster Shawncvd

Winning solves everything guys. Relax. Atlanta is a capable yet flawed team.
Boston is a veteran team that’s way past their prime. That doesn’t mean they can’t go.
Should they play D as well as they did in the final three quarters from here on out there’s no way Atlanta wins. The Hawks were held to an average of 17.3 points in those frames. Sure Boston didn’t score much either but when you watched the game that was due to EVERYONE missing make-able shots. BUNNIES!
In a big picture Ray Ray’s ankle will play a larger roll in this teams success than Rondo’s bump. I’m not excusing Rajon BTW just giving people perspective. Too many people here are dooming and glooming over ONE game THAT HASN’T EVEN BEEN PLAYED YET!!! I for one am going to enjoy this teams trials and tribulations.

  • Quest

When the best player on the team is missing it leaves cause for concern. Too many should of’s couldn’t of’s on execution doesn’t help either.

  • DJisinthehall

You bring up a good point James. If I really knew nothing about basketball why the hell would I be using Dennis Johnson in my screen name? Now look time hasn’t been good to you. You need to pull your head out of your ass and realize when KG calls someone the best player on his team. You should probably take his word for it.
Do i think we will tonight? Yes. Do I think we can go anywhere important without Rondo?
Not a chance. Come on dude, just stop being Fox News and watch what is really going on.

  • aaron

paul youre a moron. for real.

Great article …Thanks for your great information, the contents are quiet interesting.
