Enemy Chatter: Rondo carved up Charlotte’s defense

SilasI often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Charlotte.

Rondo makes everything so much easier for his teammates; he carved up the Charlotte interior defense to the tune of 16 assists (if his 20 points weren't enough for you). Many of those assists came on back door cuts when Charlotte defenders forgot the "man" part of seeing man and ball at all times.

Head coach Paul Silas spoke after the game that seeing your man on defense was something his team has been working on but just didn’t do it very well tonight. It wasn’t only the big men from Boston benefitting from easy baskets in the lane, no Rondo seemed to find just about every Celtic position at least once for an easy dunk or layup.

Boston destroyed pretty much every Bobcat on the pick and roll tonight.

What's scary is that Charlotte saw the sloppy Rajon Rondo. When's the last time he had 8 TOs?

There were some great camera shots last night of the Bobcats bench. Paul Silas and his staff just shaking and hanging their heads after many plays. I also feel for those Bobcats bloggers. Doing the dirty work for a team with 7 wins.

IIRC, at least 2 TOs were Steamer fumbling passes. Another was an alley-oop where Bradley was shoved mid-air, no foul called. The refs swallowed their whistles a lot last night. I would venture another couple were should-be-fouls. The 8 TOs are BS.
Also, Steamer had 4 blocks in the first minutes of the game. In the third, Gorman says “Greg with his fourth block.” Huh? Point is, we know official scoring isn’t perfect. I would call Rondo’s game his cleanest ever, but I don’t really recall (though I could be wrong) a lot of sloppiness from him. I think circumstances contrived against him and he got the responsibility of many TOs that weren’t really on him. So be it.
