Let’s just take a moment to enjoy this headline, and this team

Cs in first

That's the headline when you get to the Globe's site today.

C's in first.

There are still weeks to go and a lot of games to play.  The Celtics could get hot and increase the lead… they could stay in this dogfight… or they could go cold and miss the playoffs altogether.  I really don't know what to expect.

So here's what I'm going to do right now.  I'm going to just sit there and look at this headline today.  I'm going to appreciate the basketball hell this team has gone through with the lockout, injuries, heart issues… all of it.  And I'm going to enjoy the fact that throughout all of these circumstances that very well could have provided legitimate excuses for quitting… this team didn't.

They didn't blow it up and trade half the team away.  They didn't implode and become a group of bickering fools.  They stuck together, rode out the storm, and fought their way back to the top of their division.

I don't know where this team will go from here.  But for today, I'm going to appreciate the hell out of this team.

It was bound to happen. Philly simply did not have the firepower to hold the Atlantic Division much longer. Once the Celtics started scorching March, I knew it would be over for Philly. The question for the Celtics is whether or not they will advance in the playoff, which I will doubt will happen. The Pacers are too deep and the Celtics are too depleted to pose any threat.
They’ll need to watch out for the Knicks, however. NY is just 2 and a half games behind them. It will be a race to the finish.

You completely missed the point of this post.

I sure as hell enjoy every last minute of seeing this team play. Even though I do not expect them to go far in the playoffs if I’m really honest, it has been an entertaining ride for the last few years. And even though I would like to see banner 18 as soon as possible, I think they deserve our support for the way they keep fighting through what may very well be their last go-round as currently constituted, and for the way they brought respectability back to Boston basketball. Who knows where this team can go over the next few years, now that the Cs are again a force to be reckoned with in the NBA and DA has assembled some nice pieces going forward…
