This is certainly good news.  I'm hoping now the good news continues to pile up and last night was more of a scare than serious injury.

Update: Via Chris Forsberg

Initial tests performed on Celtics guard Mickael Pietrus on Friday suggest he escaped serious head injury and while there are more tests to run, his agent William McCandless said Saturday morning that early indications are he might simply have a concussion and the long-term prognosis is encouraging.

Great news

maybe i missed something….and i’m not trying to be a d*ck, but he didn’t even hit his head so how did he get a concussion. Can you get a concussion without hitting your head? I figured it was a spine injury or nerve problem in his neck when all that force caused his neck to try to stabilize his head from hitting the floor.

  • Great news indeed!

  • He was the most aggressive last night he’s been all year, if he does return, you’ll probably see him go back to just shooting 3’s

a sherrod blakely says all tests negative on pietrus.

A concussion happens when the brain gets bounced around in the cranium. It’s like a brain bruise from hitting the inside of your skull. You don’t have to actually hit your head on anything to cause one. A sharp jolt of your head/neck can cause it too.

I had a feeling it was more precautionary than anything else. It looked more like a mild concussion (might miss a week or two) and a neck strain, trying to prevent his head form hitting the floor.

  • I realized it was a backbone damage or sensors problem in his throat when all that power triggered his throat to try to secure his go from reaching the earth.
