Last time

The Mavericks beat the Celtics 90-85 on Jan. 11 in Boston. You may remember Dirk Nowitzki's drive and lay-up sealed the game for Dallas.

This time

Get it to: Paul Pierce

I know he's been playing like crap, but the Truth has has averaged 27.2 points on 51.4 percent shooting in his last six visits to Dallas. Let's hope history repeats itself. It's our only hope.

Gotta stop: Dirk Nowitzki

Without Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass, the Celtics have NO ONE to guard Dirk. I shutter to think what Nowitzki will do to Chris Wilcox on the perimeter or JaJuan Johnson in the post.

The Wild Card: The Celtics kids

Doc Rivers might as well unleash the hounds – Avery Bradley, E'Twaun Moore, Greg Stiemsma and JaJuan Johnson. Let's the kids and their energetic optimism run wild.

How we see it goin' down

I have ZERO confidence in the Celtics. If they're capable of losing to bad teams (DET) while well-rested, how can they possibly beat the Mavericks on the 2nd night of a road back-to-back? But… I'm going with the reverse lock logic.

Prediction: BOS 94 – DAL 92

I’m gonna say that the celtics r gonna get blown out

Hope you’re right, Chuck. I’ll be there with my Pierce jersey on. Do not have a good feeling, though.

  • TheW

The C’s have had a knack for pulling teams into their ugly game vortex this year.
    Triple overtime victory: Celtics – 57 Mavs – 54
All the “blow it up” talk stops tonight!

  • Quest

Rondo suspended 2 games. Well that just confirms the next 2 games are a blow out for the C’s. No Rondo and No KG and No Bass it will take a miracle for the C’s to come out looking even close to good.

  • Quest

Wow Rondo out until Feb 28 with all star weekend coming. Wonder if he still travels to OKC to celebrate his Bday with Perk as originally planned or rather commiserate this terrible season in Boston.

If the Celtics hold true to form, tonight starts the newest winning streak.

I hate to admit it, but I totally agree.. The most important loss is KG, so Dirk’ll do what he wants w/ our defense.. I just hope in a proud and great game by Ray and Paul

This game is putrid. Time to blow it up!

Yikes, watching the game live gave me a whole new perspective to just how bad this team has gotten. Watching Pietrus just hang out at the perimeter and doing nothing until he got the ball was painful. Ugh. I need a drink or six.
