Deron Williams, Kris Humphries out tonight

Chuck - Red's Army January 4, 2012 Uncategorized 8 Comments

CSNNE's Carolyn Manno has the scoop:

Deron Williams out for tonights #Celtics game with a rib bruise

Avery Johnson says Williams is day to day with ribs. Hoping to have him back on Friday

Williams just another injury to already depleted roster, Kris Humphries likely out with left shoulder tonight also

Deron Williams hasn't exactly been lighting it up this year for New Jersey. He's shooting 36% and averaging only 6 assists per game.

The Nets are also without starting center Brook Lopez.

Should be an easy win for the Celtics.

Nice. Chuck just jinxed us. Good Job.

No Deron Williams. No Kris Humphries. No Brook Lopez. This should be a 30 point blowout. Why do I feel like we’re gonna lose then?

    Who is our starting center?

There is no such thing as an “easy win” for the 2011-12 Celtics.
Not even a home game against the winless Wizards two nights ago.

NJ goes in w/o 3 of its best players. not looking good at all.

So we can expect Brooks to fill it up tonight, which will leave us shaking our collective heads over Danny selecting and then trading him for JJ and a #2. Word of caution … for a while Tony Allen, before the ACL, was putting up 20/night on a bad Celtics team. The points have to come from somewhere and that future second rounder could turn into a #31 pick. NJ could suck for the next few years.
Good night to lather up the veterans, build a cushion and let the young guys play out the 4th quarter. Pacers are on deck.

Rest Pierce. A bone bruise on the heel. He says he’s only 80%. If he keeps playing, he’ll never get to 100%, which is what the Cs will need in the playoffs. Use these opportunities to sit him.
