Jeff Green has not yet been cleared to practice. The Celtics are waiting for additional test results.

Since the Celtics won't elaborate, we are forced to speculate. Some suspect mono. If that were the diagnosis, would the doctors let him hang around other players? Others suspect a heart condition. Green refuted this diagnosis on Tuesday.

Let's read into Danny's quote, "It depends on your perspective."  If Green has a serious but non-life threatening condition, his long term perspective might be one of relief. But if that condition will keep him off the court, the short term perspective is one of frustration.

For his own sake, I hope Jeff’s OK. Seems highly likely we’ll be moving on without him this season. Would we get cap exception to sign someone else?

Under the new CBA it appears they would be entitled to use half of JG’s $9m salary to sign an emergency replacement. My guess is both salaries would count against this year’s cap although I’m not sure if he could just be amnestied should he be ruled out for the season.
