Delonte West signs with Dallas Mavericks

I know a lot of you will be upset by this, but Delonte West has signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

The signing of Keyon Dooling made Delonte expendable.  As much as I love the guy and wish him well, the C's were just ready to move on.

  • The C’s were ready to move on from Delonte to Keyon Dooling? Besides minor mental issues, there would be no reason. Delonte is younger, more intense, a good shooter, good defender, etc. No good reason to let him go.

  • Good luck, D-West.

  • The C’s were ready to move to Dooling. And Delonte was ready to move to a championship contender. Makes sense to me.

  • hmm…. is there a Keyon Dooling highlights mix on youtube?

  • I love how you guys here justify every effing awful decision Ainge makes. Delonte was a player we clearly shouldn’t have let go. But whatever. If Danny did it it must be right.

  • It’s important to bow down to authority. If Danny did it, it must be right.

  • Right. When Delonte was actually on the court last year, he was reliable.

  • Delonte was an unrestricted free agent. Please bash on DA for stuff he could actually control. Had Delonte gotten injured later this year as a Celtic you strike me as a person who would be bagging on Ainge for keeping a guy so prone to injury.
We get it you don’t like the C’s GM. Kindly explain what you realistically could do in his place to improve this team…
I wish Delonte all the best in Dallas.

  • Delonte didn’t want to move on, he said Boston was his first choice and he would have taken a minimum deal, we insulted him by not even bothering to contact him so he went elsewhere. Wasted opportunity IMO. He was great last year.

  • He was unrestricted but said he wanted to come back so he might as well have had a team option!
I’d hardly say he’s injury prone the dude broke his wrist from a freak accident and was back and a key player for us by the end of the year. Given the shortened camps etc he would have been worth the signing just because we wouldn’t have to teach him the system etc. Stupid to not take him when he was just sitting there waiting to play for us.

  • You could be right. I forgot he missed games due to that whole gun thing then broke his wrist for a 2nd time during his career. Not as injury prone as I stated.
