Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

For Garnett to privately fight for the union in meetings, to implore the players to make no more undue concessions even if it means they sit out the season, has to be one of the most unselfish acts in these labor talks. They’ll call him greedy, ungrateful, a pig, and they’ll be wrong. There’s no winning for Garnett in this labor fight, unless he’s left something for the next generation of players, the way his predecessors did for him.

“What he’s doing now, to me, it says a lot about K.G.,” says a younger NBA player who made about $5 million last season. “He’s willing to sit out the year, and give up [$21 million] at the end of his last big contract, and probably his last really good chance to win another ring. For him, this is about the principle.

“I don’t want to hear this stuff from our guys saying, ‘Oh, he can afford to sit out. He’s made a lot of money.’ I respect the [expletive] out of those guys standing up for us right now, him, Kobe, all of them.”

If I was Kevin Garnett, I'd have my feet up on a lounge chair on the deck of my house in Malibu, not inside a stuffy hotel room in Manhattan. With my career winding down, I would let the next generation of players negotiate a deal that will impact their lives more than it would impact mine.

Not KG. He's right there with the lawyers and union suits. And he's no bystander. His demeanor was described as "apoplectic" by one source in the Wojo column.

I've criticized Garnett a few times for his boorish behavior on the court. But like the players quoted in this column, I respect the [expletive] out of him for bringing his passion to the negotiations.

I like his boorish activites on the court.

Provided it gets them on the court, fire away KG. If he stirs it up and the players don’t get a better deal, and we miss the season, not so much.
The point that he is passionate and acting on his beliefs, I definitely respect.
Kinda like you guys Reds! It has been awful with this b.s. going on for so long and each morning the ‘dump’ has something worth reading. Well done guys. Here’s to hoping this thing ends.
