GreenLight Madness: Celtics Top 64 Plays (#30 Seed vs #35 Seed)

Jay June 25, 2011 Uncategorized Comments Off

There is just about a week left until the NBA lockout starts and the dark period for NBA fans begins.  Not since Michael Jordan's iconic jumper in Utah ended the 1998 season have fans had to endure a time of NBA-less days.  Paul Pierce was drafted that June and is about to go through it again.  Today's matchup features a couple of plays from The Truth to amazingly display that he's still playing at a great level.

Seed #30: Pierce's Chasedown Block on Nocioni - In a late season game at home against the Philadelphia 76ers, it's about mid-way through the second quarter and Philly is up by one.  Recently signed to a 10-day contract, veteran Antonio Daniels gets a long outlet pass to Andres Nocioni who has a clear path for an easy bucket.  That's until Pierce chases him down and rejects his attempt.  Owned.

Seed #35: Pierce Posterizes Roy Hibbert Part 1 – It's St. Patrick's Day time around Boston and Pierce wastes no time introducing Danny Granger to a little baseline Irish Jig to get by him on his way to the basket.  And much like the boys in Southie get it done right away as soon as they set foot in the bar, Pierce posterizes Roy Hibbert to score the first points of the game.  Top 'O The Mornin to ya, Mr. Hibbert!
