The madness marches on as the NBA season comes to a close and we all begin to focus on the upcoming draft. This madness post will be the uber definition of madness as I've managed to screw up my own tournament. That Rondo 4 seconds or less play was supposed to be involved a bit later on, so that screwed up the order a bit. I'm not going to even claim I was hacked, I just effed up royally.
So, I would humbly ask all of you to re-vote the previous two polls, along with this new one (I know, I know it takes so much effort to click one of the options and then click 'Vote'). Feel free to throttle me in the comments, just be creative! Anyway, without wasting more time…
Seed #17: Seed #17: Delonte and Ray Hit Clutch Threes (2011 G4 ECSF vs MIA) – The Celtics were trailing the Heat with about 3 minutes to go by a mere 3 points in a tight, pivotal Game 4 at the Garden. As Rajon Rondo rushes the ball up the floor, he gets it to Paul Pierce. Pierce drives to the basket, drawing nearly every Miami defender and leaving Delonte West open for a left-baseline three. Delonte drills it and ties the game. Then, on the next possession, Pierce again finds the man in the corner, this time it's Ray Allen. As he has since he's been here, Ray buries a three to give the Celtics the lead with just over 2 minutes left. The rest of the game was nothing short of taking a drop-kick to the head, but nonetheless, these threes were beyond clutch.
Seed #48: Pierce Blows by Delfino for the Dunk – In a mid-March Sunday night game at home against the Milwaukee Bucks, the C's are dominating early in the second half. Clearly, Paul Pierce hasn't had enough and decides to add Carlos Delfino to his 2011 Dunk Hit List. KG feeds Pierce who is posting up Delfino, then with a lightning quick step to the baseline, blows by him and throws down the two-handed slam.
Seed #18: Pierce gets Hammered by Mason for the And 1 (2011 G3 ECQF) – During Game 3 of the Knicks series, the Celtics were destroying the Knicks at MSG when Rondo finds Pierce on the break who gets hammered by Roger Mason and still makes the lay-up and the foul.
Seed #47: Delonte Blocks Paul George – It's a St. Patrick's Day pre-celebration at the Garden against the Indiana Pacers when Delonte West serves up a shot of rejection to Paul George.
Seed #19: Ray Allen: You can't See Me – In a frenetic playoff game against the Knicks, Ray Allen first bricks a three of the side of the backboard as he falls into the bench. But the C's stay with the play, and eventually Rajon Rondo finds Ray wide open as he drills the three, then gives the "You Can't See Me" gesture. Or was he lobbying for a foul? Either way it was a fantastic play.
Seed #46: JO Hosts a Block Party in DC – In what was easily his finest game as a Celtic, Jermaine O'Neal invites several members of the Wizards faction to his block party in DC, and promptly rejects them all.
