Amar’e skips Knicks practice

New York Times reporter Jonathan Abrams updates us on Amar'e Stoudemire's status:

Amar's Stoudemire is not at today's practice. He's getting treatment at home.

I'll blatantly speculate that Amar'e is still in some discomfort from the back spasms and the Knicks medical staff didn't want to cram his 6-11 frame into a vehicle.

According to ESPN New York:

MRI exams on Wednesday afternoon revealed that Amare Stoudemire has a pulled muscle in his back and Chauncey Billups has a strained left knee.

The New York Knicks have listed Stoudemire as day to day and Billups as questionable for Game 3 of the Knicks' first-round series with the Celtics on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks trail Boston, 2-0.

While nearly everyone expects Amar'e to play, back injuries can be tricky. This could flare up on him at any moment.

I'd be stunned to see Billups on the court in anything but a suit for Game 3.
